EDUCATION CATEGORIES
 
CATEGORY A:Courses oered by PMI’s R.E.P.sor Chapters and Communities
Earn PDUs by attending educational courses oered by PMI’s Registered EducationProviders (R.E.P.s). These providers adhere to quality criteria established by PMI and aresolely authorized to issue PDU certifcates to attendees. R.E.P.s can be identifedby their logo:Examples o R.E.P.s include schools, consultants, corporate training departments,proessional associations, government agencies and PMI chapters. View the searchabledatabase o R.E.P.s and the courses they oer online.You can also earn PDUs by attending events (seminars, conerences, etc.) oered byPMI, PMI chapters and communities o practice. These event listings can be ound onPMI’s events calendar or on the websites o your specifc chapter or the community opractice to which you belong.You can also earn PDUs by taking a PMI® Publication Quiz (reading an article andcorrectly answering at least 70 percent o the questions).
PDU Rule:
1 hour o instruction related to project management, project risk, project scheduling,or program management equals 1 PDU. You can report PDUs in 0.25, 0.50 and 0.75increments. 
Documentation required upon PMI audit/request:
Registration orm, certifcate or letter o attendance.
CATEGORY B:Continuing Education
Earn PDUs:
•Bycompletinganacademiccoursebeingofferedbyauniversityorcollege
 
OR
•Byattendingrelevanteducationalcoursesofferedbytrainingorganizations
NOT registered with PMI. This may include training (or a Webinar) oered byyour employer, another proessional or membership association, or a nonR.E.P. training organization.When only a portion o a course relates to your credential area o expertise, calculatePDUs by the percentage o the overall curriculum ocused on the topic.Report each course separately. Entire degree programs will not be recognized or PDUcredits, only individual courses.

CATEGORY C:Sel-Directed Learning
Earn PDUs or sel-directed learning activities which are individualized learning eventsinvolving personally conducted research or study.Learning may include inormal activities such as:
•readingarticles,books,orinstructionalmanuals;•watchingvideos,usinginteractiveCD-ROMs,
  
Podcastsorothersourcematerial;•havingformaldiscussionswithcolleagues,coworkers,clientsorconsultants;•beingcoachedormentoredbyacolleague,coworkerorconsultant(Ifyou
  served as a coach or mentor to someone else, report that activity under the  Volunteer Category)Qualiying activities must be relevant to project management, project risk,project scheduling, or program management, meet a specifed purpose, and useknowledgeable resources.
PDU Rule:
1 PDU is awarded or every 1 hour spent in a sel-directed learning activitylisted in this category.
PDU restrictions

GIVING BACK TO THE PROFESSION CATEGORIES
PDU Rule:
You may not earn more than a total o 45 PDUs in the three “Giving Back tothe Proession” categories per cycle i you hold the PMP and PgMP credentials. You may not earn more than a total o 20 PDUs in the three “Giving Back tothe Proession” categories per cycle i you hold the PMI-SP and PMI-RMPcredentials.
CATEGORY D:Creating New ProjectManagement Knowledge
Earn PDUs or creating new knowledge or the topic related to your credential areao expertise (project management, project risk management, project scheduling, orprogram management). Qualiying activities include:
