Dedicated to his professional career as a banking executive and personal life as a resident of Salina, Kansas, Alan Eichelberger received his undergraduate degree in banking and finance from Fort Hays State University in 1977 after earning his Associate of Arts in Accounting and Economics in 1975. Mr. Eichelberger went on to complete further professional training as a member of the Kansas Bankers Association, the American Bankers Association, and Robert Morris Associates (now the Risk Management Association). In 1992, he participated in a Commercial Loan Diagnostic Assessment, where he was among the top 1% of his class. The following year, he completed the American Bankers Association’s Graduate School of Banking program in Madison, Wisconsin.
As an executive with First National Bank of Kansas in Burlington, Alan Eichelberger currently evaluates the bank’s credit processes and develops risk management strategies for the bank’s loaning practices. Throughout his career, Mr. Eichelberger has garnered experience in numerous executive capacities. As the Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer at Security Savings Bank, he was responsible for increasing financial assets, and Mr. Eichelberger created an incentive plan which grew the assets of a $200 million company into $825 million. His leadership resulted in income increasing from $1.7 million to $9.6 million. Additionally, while working for Bank of America Corporation, he gained experience working with large, corporate clients. Throughout his career, Alan Eichelberger has shown an ability to build successful staffs, serve as an effective team leader, and act as a mentor to other professionals in effective credit analysis and successful client relationship management.
A respected member of his Salina, Kansas, community, Alan Eichelberger worships at Saint Mary’s Parish and was a Vice President of the Salina Board of Realtors. In the past, Mr. Eichelberger served on various committees on the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce and worked with the local chapter of the YMCA of the USA, Salina Area United Way, and the Fort Hays State University Alumni Association in Salina.
