Dear Mr. president i am a single mom I have raised 4 children, one which is still at home. I started college 10 yrs ago but had to quit within the first two years do to my divorce. I have never received child suport and have had to get help from the welfare for medical i work as a certified nurses aide in a nursing home making 10.75 an hour the board of education takes fifteen percent for my school loans and has benn going on two years now but yet only about 400 dollars goes towards my loan i would like to return to school to get a nursing degree but i cant do that because i cant afford it. I have a 15 year old daughter who says why bother to get an edcation theres no way to get ahead in this country. Im affraid that is what alot of youth are feeling right now . I have worked very hard for a very long time. Im struggling to keep my house(which is falling apart) and i cant really afford to keep the utilities up because i have to put gas in my car, eat and such we just had a freind put our two dogs down because i could not afford to feed them. Im pretty tough i have had to be but my daughter on the other hand is not , she is avery depressed fifteen year old who doesn't look forward to the future. how do you tell her it will get better when there is no proof of that?
