In June, 2007, Executive Editor Amitt Parikh launched YSR e-magazine to work towards our spiritual evolution through Your Spiritual Revolution. In February2008, I gladly joined as Editor inthis initiative for revolutionary holistictransformation of readers on a global scale. Thefirst issue of YSR was on meditation. This firstanniversary issue is a special issue onEnlightenment, which is the aim of meditation,yoga and spirituality itself.Humanity is currently facing a planetarycrisis that threatens our very existence throughall sorts of problems ranging from terrorism,racism, violence, poverty, injustice, soullesscommercialism and religious fanaticism toglobal warming caused by ecologicaldestruction. This crisis cannot be resolvedthrough purely scientific or rational approaches, because at its very root, it is a spiritual crisis of consciousness. That makes awakening intoEnlightenment crucial for humanity.What is Enlightenment? Is Enlightenment, anawareness that is already there, which we become aware of through spiritual practices? IsEnlightenment a destination or an evolutionary process? How can we reach individual andcollective Enlightenment?
