He is the image o the invisible God, the rstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulersor authorities; all things were created by him and or him. ... so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his ullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcileto himsel all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven,by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.Collosians 1:15-20

Troughout ancient times God spoke in many ragments and  glimpses o prophetic thought to our athers. Now, the sum total o His conversation with man has nally culminated in a son; He isthe ocial heir o all things, He is aer all the author o the ages. InHim everything nds their destiny. (Christ is the crescendo o God’sconversation with us.) He makes the glory (intent) o God visiblein radiant reection, He gives stature to the character and persono God. (Gen.1:26,27.)Tis nal powerul utterance o God (theincarnation) is the vehicle that carries the weight o the universe.Te content o His message celebrates the act that God took it upon Himsel to successully purge and acquit mankind. Jesus isnow His right hand o power, seated in the boundless measure o His majesty. He occupies the highest seat o authority.
Heb. 1:1-3 Mirror ranslationAll the prophets bore witness and pointed towards an event;a person, in which the mystery - the ullness o God’s purpose -would be made known. It was not because o a lack o diligencethat they only saw and spoke in ragments and glimpses, butbecause o the enormity o this revelation. Tere was only Onewho was worthy to open the seals; only One who would havethe strength and wisdom to accurately reect God’s originalidea; only One who witnessed and was part o God’s originalmotivation to create. Te prophets saw glimpses o the mind o God, but Jesus is the mind o God.In no way does this belittle the prophets, but rather it

emphasises the signicance o Christ. Te messages that camethrough the prophets had such rich variety, they were relevantin so many dierent generations and were communicated insuch a diversity o ways, but they were all moving towards aclimax - the crescendo o God’s conversation with man. Teprophets spoke, wrote and sometimes used dramatic action tocommunicate their message - Jesus is the message. Te prophetsofen spoke a word that was relevant or their generation, theirtime and situation - Jesus is the complete and eternal Word, always relevant, always resh. Te prophets bore witness to thereality and truth they saw - Jesus is that reality, is that truth. Heis the very brilliance and light o God’s character and His aimis not simply to reveal truth to us, but to make us true. As webehold Him we are transormed into that same image!Te One who began it all, the Author o the ages, has notorsaken what He made. He is as surely the Lord o ‘destiny’ as Heis the Lord o creation. Te Creator is also the Redeemer. He hasnot retreated into being a distant observer, a purely transcendentGod, but continues to be intimately involved, sustaining allexistence, upholding the universe. When John speaks about the Word that became esh, Heis saying that the very mind o God, the reason and very lie o God was made visible, so that we no longer have to grope inthe darkness, but know His thoughts towards us. He is the trueor real light - the essence and reality o everything. I you want
