Thanks so much for this pattern. Really easy to follow even for a fairly newby crocheter and an impressive result for very little effort.
I have just come across your pattern and I'm having problems. When I finish round 5 I always have 36 stitches but in round 4 I have 28 like you state. I have no clue as to what I could be doing wrong. Could you possibly help? I really want to make this for my niece.
I had the same problem I would always have an extra stitch or a couple extra stitches and it worked out fine on mine. You can finish the hat and see if it turns out for you, And if not you can try it again. Best of luck to you LaChandra.
Adorei o girl crochê. Parabéns pelo lindo trabalho. Lelê
These are adorable. I can't wait to try it for myself. Thanks for sharing!
I keep having to start over on this. No matter what I do it always ends up lop-sided. Do you have any suggestions or know what I might be doing wrong?
Hmmm. I'm not sure what's going wrong for you. I would recommend counting your stitches at the end of each round, or maybe even as you are crocheting, to make certain you aren't accidentally adding or subtracting. Also be sure the increases are spaces according to the pattern or you might end up with something a bit lopsided. I hope that helps.
Tara, there likely is a way to create a knit hat similar to this, but one can't knit shells (on the border) or create a flower in the same way. It would need to be a fairly different looking hat. I'm not sure what king of flower could be knitted but I've seen patterns around...
Is there a way to convert this into a knitting pattern?

Just wondering if it ok to use your flower pattern on some hats I sell--I use my own hat pattern. Thanks!
Lorie, thanks for asking. It's fine with me. If there is a way to link to my blog that would be nice (don't know if you are selling these online or offline...), but not a must. Happy selling!
