Education & Training Background:
Dr. Hafied Gany was born in Watan Soppeng, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, onNovember 10, 1944. He started his professional career in the Water ResourcesDevelopment and Management as a construction supervisor of water resourcesprojects after completing his civil engineering undergraduate in Bandung in 1967.From 1968 to 1981, Dr. Gany had a series of experiences working in the waterresources design, construction, Operation & Maintenance and management ofwater resources infrastructures, as well as field research and experimentalactivities on the same disciplines and their related subjects.In 1979, he obtained M.Sc. degree from the University of Southampton, U.K. Hewas assigned as the project manager of the Construction Guidance Service
Center
- CGSC - Project, at the same time as chief of the Research Station forHydraulic Structures of the Ministry of Public Works in Bekasi, West Java
Province from 1985 to 1989.
In 1993 he obtained an interdisciplinary Ph.D. majoring Engineering, Economics,Sociology, and Demography at the University of Manitoba, Canada, with
