Biosphere model – resistance
Model resistansi telah banyak digunakan dalam
permodelan sistem tanah-tanaman-atmosfer

sebagai representasi dinamika yang terjadi di
dalam atmosfir dan fungsi-fungsi internal
tanaman. Khususnya model ini digunakan dalam
analisis perpindahan/transfer fluk (flux) dalam
sistem tanah-tanaman-atmosfer. Fig. 1

Fig. 1. Schematics of resistances in the pathways of energy (sensible heat flux,
latent/evaporative heat flux) and gas (CO2). Based on schematics by Sellers et al (Sellers P.J.,
D.A. Randall, G. J. Collatz, J.A. Berry, C.B Field, D.A. Dazlich, C. Zhang, G.D. Collelo, and L. Bounoua. 1996. A Revised Land Surface
Parameterization (SiB2) for Atmospheric GCMs, Part I: Model Formulation. Journal of Climate 9:676-705). The resistance

model is a well-known analogous for modeling processes of surface fluxes over vegetated
surfaces. This schematics shows the simplification of vegetation into a “wire network”
within plant body, soil and atmosphere. The flow of fluxes “current” due to the thermal,
humid and gas (CO2) “voltage” in the wire must get through resistance as the consequence
of atmospheric and plant internal control dynamic. Sensible heat transfer sourced from leaf
and soil surface occurred due to the thermal difference, latent heat from soil through root
and leaf, and directly from soil surface due to vapor pressure difference and CO2 from the
atmosphere and soil to the leaf.
