\u2022 In order to locate points, lines, planes, or other
geometric forms, their positions must first be
referenced to some known position, called a

reference pointor origin of measurement.
\u2022 Basically they have seven reference in
coordinates system:

1. 2D coordinate system 2. 3D coordinate system 3. Polar coordinates

4. Cylindrical coordinates
5. Spherical coordinates
6. Absolute & relative coordinates
7. World & local coordinates systems

\u2022 A 2-D coordinate system
establishes anorigin at the
intersection of two mutually
perpendicular axes, labeled
X (horizontal) and Y
(vertical).

\u2022 The origin is assigned the
coordinate values of 0,0.
Values to the right of the
origin are considered
positive, and those to the left
are negative.

\u2022 Similarly, values above the origin are positive, and those below are
negative.

\u2022 The numbers assigned to each point are called coordinates where
the first number is the X coordinate and the second number is the Y
coordinate.
