An Interactive Voice Response processes inbound phone calls, plays recorded message including information extracted from databases and the internet and potentially routes calls to either in house service agents or transfer the caller to an outside extension.
The IVR system operates by the ring in the line device. The moment the ring is detected it plays stored welcome message and gives necessary instruction for the user to use the keys of the key pad of his/her telephone for harnessing suitable information. The computer passes exact information for the correctly pressed key. The computer waits for all the information to be passed and then plays another audio questionnaire to the user. Appropriate choice is sought and the suitable information is given. After playing all the required information to the user the system asks the user, whether user wants another chance. If user wants it, system repeats all the above sequence. After the user presses \u201c*\u201d the system disconnects automatically, and then it awaits the next call. ThisIVR is implemented to provide student information in the student organization. It uses front end in Visual Basics and the backend is MS-access. The main heart of this system is its hardware apparatus. It uses microcontroller PIC 16F877.
