Dr. Harold Peters, a pro\ue000essor emeritus o\ue000 biology, died on November 10 at the age o\ue000 99. Former wrestling and \ue000ootball coach Chet Anderson, pro\ue000essor emeritus o\ue000 physical education, died on November 19. He was 90. They had a combined service to Bemidji State o\ue000 over 50 years.

Although coming \ue000rom di\ue000\ue000erent areas o\ue000 campus, coach Anderson and scientist Dr. Peters shared personal qualities that serve as standard-bearers \ue000or us today. They were passionate about their work, whether it was charting a course to con\ue000erence champion- ships or conducting feldwork to track the li\ue000ecycles and habits o\ue000 insects. They inspired others \u2013 sharing their enthusiasm, knowledge, and wisdom with not only their budding charges, but also their colleagues and community members. They were com- passionate, showing a personal interest in the lives o\ue000 those they coached and taught.

More important than the campus \ue000acilities that bear their names are the people whose lives they shaped. Some \ue000ollowed in their \ue000ootsteps and became coaches and pro\ue000essors. All have led richer lives having had them as teachers, colleagues, and \ue000riends.
