Audio Essay: Pan-Equiism

Pan-Equiism – The belief that everybody, all people, should start out equal.Equality. This is a concept that the world has failed to recognize for thousands of yearsand some countries still have this problem. There are slavery, racism, and caste systems.I believe that people should start out as equals, as in rights, power, and responsibilities.As people grow up, however, they should receive more responsibilities and cease to beequals. I believe that it is impossible for everyone to stay equals because we are allunique.With equality, in my opinion, there is a need for at least some form of structureand organization. A document saying that everyone is equal, and not having anything toenforce it, isn’t really equality to me. However, laws about it and a strong government toenforce the laws are a start. One of my other core beliefs is that people need somestructure and organization in their lives. A strong government, such as a democracy, canhelp the people keep organized. I believe that with a strong government to uphold thelaws of equality in every country, the problems would be much fewer.I think that structure holds everything together like the cement to a building.Without it, the whole structure would fall apart. Without a strong, organized government,the societies are more likely to fall apart like the building. The people are the foundationand the supporting pillars. They help keep the building standing as well as thegovernment. Even though there are pillars that are higher up, or have more power, theystill need the support of the others to keep everything together. If the foundation is
