- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This week, I reviewed the book, "Collage + Cloth = Quilt" by Blaydon. I've always had doubts about my abilities for making a quilt collage. What would be the theme? How would I know if the pieces fit together to form some kind of meaning? What colors to use- should they blend/contrast/ clash? Do I have anything worth saying in a collage? Does the quilt have to say anything? How would I make it, if I did have an idea? Where would I even begin? This book is like a breath of fresh air to me in collage-quilt making. It takes the weight off my shoulders for all of my questions! I do have a collection of photos that I like and could play with! I am able to choose what my favorites are, and to use the colors that are in the photos! I do like to cut things up and re-arrange them to make something completely new and pleasing! I can do this! Not only does this book give you ideas on planning your collage-quilt, but it also shows you how to piece your quilt.I would recommend this book to anyone who could use inspiration and ideas for making an art quilt! It's nice to have a place to begin with!
