About this ebook

Do Dogs Laugh? draws on the last several decades of canine research, examining everything from a dog's eyesight to its culinary preferences and sense of humor. Jake Page looks at dogs' wild brothers, the wolves, and their closer cousins, the wild or pariah dogs; explains the newest theory of how dogs were domesticated; describes a dog's development from puppyhood on; and finally ponders a dog's emotional life and intelligence. And as an added bonus, Page's own pack of dogs makes multiple cameo appearances.

This is a brilliant little book covering the evolution of dogs from a small tree dwelling creature to the modern domestic dog. This is not a book on dog training or behavior.

Wonderfully put together and quite interesting. Facts are broken up with anecdotal stories and you are unlikely to become bored. I highly recommend.

I LOVED this book! Maybe because I am a dog lover? However, this book is very informational and would be a great book to use for research in the classroom. The book explains to you where dogs came from and what different breeds are used for. For instance, I learned that Basset Hounds (which are what my dogs are) originated in England and were bred for hunting purposes. I enjoyed this book, it contained tons of great information.

This is a great informational text providing lots of details about where dogs came from, what different types of dogs they have, characteristics of dogs, and also how to care for a dog. It uses photography to show real-life images of dogs as opposed to drawings.
