- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Comprehensive glimpse at the topics often taught at MBA schools. Good for a high level overview of business topics. A bit dry, but very useful reference.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Good for a high level overview of business topics and very useful reference.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I read the first four chapters and hadn't learned anything new (and no, I don't have an MBA). This book is just a dump of the author's notes and is not very well organized or written.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I read this book before I entered a top MBA program. Silbiger does a very good job of concisely summarizing the key concepts that are taught in core MBA courses. It is well explained and easy to read. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to get an idea of what to expect in an MBA program or just looking for a shortcut to the jargon and concepts MBAs use. It is really amazing how two years of study can be summed up in a fairly short book, but that tends to be the nature of MBA programs at top schools. The challenge is to get admitted - once you have done that, the rest is fairly easy.
