- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I want to give this book 5 stars for its ideas and 3 for overall writing style, so I shall compromise at 4. Here great ideas are put forth simply and interestingly, but with neither the wit of Chesterton nor the brilliance of C.S. Lewis (though he happily quotes both often), but then that is not the point and it is probably quite unfair to compare him to either, legends that they be. The point is to convey his ideas effectively to a broad audience, which he does, a trait I have always appreciated in this author, though I think he is a far more engaging speaker than writer. The message within is essential to life and joy, and I hope sparks enthusiasm back into a body that has forgotten both how to think and to enjoy, we need both if the western church is going to survive this age of increasing insipidity. Highly recommended if you are finding your life or faith rather 'lukewarm' at the moment or wonder what it is to enter the Kingdom, 'as a little child.'
