- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I read this book with interest since he was actually the cook. He had great little stories about his time in Diana's employ. I love cookbooks so the receipes were a hit with me. Some of the dishes were a little exotic for me but since they love them in England I would probably try them just to say I had experienced English cuisine. They could probably say the same about American food.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5how the staff organizes banquets and snacks, a behind the scenes look at the job of the staff...and best of all good recipes
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5If you want to know what the Queen eats or what Princess Diana ate this is the book for you. It was written by one of the royal chefs who then went to work as the private chef of Princess Diana.
The book is broken down into 7 chapters: The Royal Year, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, HMY Britannia, Balmoral Castle, Ssandringham House, & Kensington Palace.
Recipes include, but are not limited to: earl Grey Tea Cake, Herbed Crepes w/ Goat Cheese & Honeyed Salmon, Raspberry Tartlets, Beef Wellington, Choux a'la Cherbourg, Cheese Souffle, Isle of Wight Pudding, Old English Apple Pie, Chicken & Leek Pie, and Iced Coffee.
Wonderful recipes, easy to follow combined with mementos, invitations, & personal photographs.
This is a keeper.
