In today's world, its nearly impossible for a new author to get published by a Real Legitimate publishing house, as there are a lot of 'Vanity" publishers out there willing to take your money and give you a lot of false promises.However Steve did extensive research, just like he does for every book he writes, and he soon found Smashwords. Steve has found that Smashwords is a most helpful site. A place where you can publish, (as an eBook), your work for FREE! And they even have a nifty invention called the, "Meat Grinder," which is a computer system that examines your work and points out changes that you need to make, and lets you make all the changes that you need, to make your work look really outstanding. Since his association with Smashwords, Steve has also found it amazing that a lot of people are too Lazy to follow Mr. Coker's easy advice in the Smashwords publication, (the FREE) 'Style Guide,' so that they can easily make their work professional and sell-able. "Oh well," says Steve, "If they won't make their work look good, I certainly will!"Also Steve has written several other books, and so, he began testing out the Smashwords system on all his creations.Not being fully computer literate he found it pretty tough to get it right the first time out, but after several attempts, Steve finally got the Smashwords system figured out and, in no particular order, he began publishing his other works with Smashwords in rapid fire sequence!In 2012 Steve published at Smashwords; ‘The Problem Eliminators!’ and ‘Escape from the ORDER!’ These two Action/Adventure somewhat Science Fiction eBooks are Great for Everyone!And then Steve produced, (as a FREE Public Service), ‘100+ Quotable Quotes By & About Dr. Ron Paul~ A Real Amer-I-Can!’ This FREE eBook now has almost 2000 downloads.Steve next tried his hand at children’s books. He wrote and published at Smashwords his first Children’s eBook; ‘Nibly the Bear~ Visits the People Town.’You see, Steve had visited Canada and even lived there for a summer, and wanted to write about the quaint little town of Nelson BC, and so, he made up the character of Nibly, to introduce the town to his readers.Sometime later a new idea entered Steve’s mind and he began research into a new book.       The Desire to Lead

      1 Timothy 3:1 Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task.

      It is easy to think of people who aspire to leadership as being arrogant or proud. Humility is certainly of essence with God’s leaders, and it is imperative that we don’t prematurely work ourselves into positions to which God has not called us. However, in the above verse God says (through Paul) that those who desire leadership aspire to a noble calling. He does not call them proud or arrogant and He does not reprove them for this desire. In fact, He seems quite favorable toward their aspirations.

      Let’s not forget that the idea of church leadership was God’s idea. Perhaps it could be argued that any group of people attempting to perform any given mission needs a leader. One might think that church leadership rose out of such necessity, and thus is somehow worldly at the outset. However, this is not the case. God instituted the offices of pastors and deacons, and used various prophets, judges, kings, and priests to lead His people throughout the Bible. Leadership was His idea. It is a system instituted by God.

      Most of us have a desire to lead others. This aspiration is unhealthy when it stems from a longing to be viewed as important and significant, and to prove that in some way we have arrived. However, this desire to lead is honorable when it grows out of a desire to use the gifts and talents that God has given us to further His kingdom here on the earth. When done with pure motives leadership is simply one more avenue through which your life can bring glory to God. There is nothing wrong with this, and there is nothing wrong with aspiring to such an opportunity.

      Seeking God’s Glory

      Jeremiah 45:5 Should you then seek great things for yourself? Seek them not. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the Lord, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.

      Baruch was Jeremiah’s friend and scribe. Being a scribe had some unique challenges. Other people could choose to ignore Jeremiah’s gloomy prophecies, but Baruch had no escape. He had to bear the weight of hearing it all. It’s not hard to imagine how difficult this could be for him. It would be natural to want to do something easier or more glamorous, or to even be envious of Jeremiah’s fame.

      Perhaps it is in this context that God took a timeout from His typical prophecies and gave Jeremiah a special message for Baruch the scribe. God told Baruch that he should not seek great things for himself. God made it clear to him that he was not going to be the next Billy Graham. He was not going to lead a great revival, and he probably wasn’t even going to escape disaster. However, he would escape with his life.

      An important distinction here is that it is not wrong to seek great things. It is wrong to seek great things for yourself. Many great men have desired to see their lives used greatly. Bringing yourself glory is wrong; bringing God glory is the greatest possible use of your life. In fact, in Isaiah 43:7 it says that it was for His glory that mankind was created. Ephesians 2:10 says that we were created to do the good works God planned for us. Jesus Himself said in John 14:12 that anyone who had faith in Him would do even greater things than He did. God has great things planned for our lives to bring Him glory, and we should not shy away from those.

      Do Something Great
