Laramie Taylor a young twelve year old boy looked forward to attending the new school built in St. Joseph Missouri in the fall of 1856, because it meant less time in the fields working for pa. Raised by the Cowboy's Code, Laramie learned quickly that you had to have courage, loyalty, and respect for others, however Charles younger was not raised that way, neither was his father Henry, but Laramie would have to teach them a lesson.
When Laramie's new friend, a young black boy was attacked by Henry and Charles Younger,he had to show the utmost courage, and fight back. Striking forty-year-old Henry Younger's Pistol from his hand with a club and stripping him him of his pride. Laramie Taylor let the Younger's know, that you have to have respect for others no matter who or what they are. Laramie taught them by the way of his code.
I grew up in the small town of Danby, VT for the first 18 years of my life, and joined the U.S. Army as a cavalry scout in 1999 and returned home in 2002 with several medals of good service.
After the service I embarked on a rodeo career after I was able to walk again from injuries sustained in battle, and became a Pro and Amateur Bull Rider and a Bareback Rider.
I has since retired the rodeo although you still find me behind the chutes with the younger guys to lend a helping hand.
I began writing at the age of 13 , back then it was just something to channel my thoughts, but in 2010, I decided to do something with my writing, self-publishing my first book. In 2011 I followed Pages Full of memories with a book of short stories co-written by 8 of my rodeo pals about our wrecks and rides in the rodeo.
I have achieved a Editor’s Choice award in Poetry, and I plan to continue my writing. I am a Western Genre, Fiction and Historical Fiction writer, with my first novel in the works called Laramie’s Thunder.
