INTRODUCTION
Do you enjoy gardening? Are you fond of growing fruits and vegetables for the consumption of yourself, your friends, or your family? There is always a sense of accomplishment when you grow your own food, as many people who are into gardening can attest, whether they grow large crops or just a few garden plants in containers. Additionally, you get to provide yourself healthy, untreated foods. Growing your own food is also a viable option compared to buying expensive groceries which might not be all that fresh or might not taste quite as good.
There are many methods one can use in gardening. By tradition, you need a plot of land where you cultivate your plants. If you only have a small space, you can always grow herbs on your windowsill. You can also try container gardening. Another method of gardening that is gaining popularity, and it is called hydroponics.
This entails growing valuable crops without the need for soil. Yes, you read that right, even though it may sound impossible. Hydroponic gardening makes use of light, air, and water. Some are even hailing hydroponics as the gardening of the future. The advantage? Hydroponic crops are possible to be grown practically anywhere, even in areas where the soil might be unsuitable for growing crops.

WHAT IS HYDROPONICS?
What is hydroponics? You might have heard the term before, but never really paid much attention to it. The word comes from the Greek words hydro
for water and ponos
for labor. Therefore, hydroponics entails growing plants in the absence of soil, through the use of mineral nutrient solutions. This is possible because plants can be grown with their roots in an inert medium like gravel, perlite, or mineral wool.
Understanding Hydroponic Growing:
To understand either home hydroponics or commercial hydroponics, we need to understand the basic principles. One important thing to understand is that, as hydroponic farming grows in popularity, the systems and methods to grow hydroponic plants also expand. There are always industrious and creative
