About this ebook

Juliet Lawler has a score to settle against the drug dealers of Denver. Vance Crowe has made it his mission that Jules won’t get dead while dishing out vigilante justice. Jules doesn’t have time for romance, she’s too busy saving the world.

In this effort, she enlists Zip (a gun store owner), Heavy (an ex-PI) and Frank (a mysterious recluse) to help. The Rock Chicks get involved to provide advice and guidance. The Hot Bunch adopt Jules as one of their own.

Even though Jules tries to hang on to her inner Head-Crackin’ Mamma Jamma, the Rock Chicks, Hot Bunch, Jules’s long-suffering Uncle Nick and her Jackie-O wannabe friend May, will stop at nothing to wear her down. Not to mention Vance, who has his own unique ways of digging into Jules’s heart.

But Jules makes some bad guys pretty angry, and one will stop at nothing to take her out.

And Vance may be too late in making sure that doesn’t happen.

Author

Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

LOVED Vance but Jules just wasn't up to the previous Rock Chicks. (Of course, in my opinion.)

Probably one of my favorite so far in this serie. Filled with action this book got me from laughing to tears and back to laughing all through it. Really hooked on this serie and all of Kristen's works. Gonna be hard to go back to reading something from another author! (yes its that good!)

Every time I read one of these books in this series I think it is my favorite until I read the next.

It happened again with this one. I have been continuously saying how much I love these guys and I feel like I can't say it enough. Vance has always been one of my favorites (Okay so I am a little bit of a book whore when it comes to Lee's men..Don't Judge me!) Kristen Ashley does not disappoint with this one either. I enjoyed how Vance was. He wasn't overly possessive but he still protected what was his. Jules is pretty much a badass! I wanna be like her when I grow up! ;) She genuinely cared about the kids she worked with. They weren't just a job to her, they were her life and her family. She stood up for what she believed in. Took care of problems when no one else cared to. At first when she tried to leave Vance, and this not a spoiler; I mean all of these women try at some point, I wanted to smack her and then she let us in on why and I just wanted to hug her. Though some may be mad about Luke When her and Vance split and her and Luke made out I was actually glad to see that. We got a glimpse at Luke, we've been getting that but this was more. I love Luke, he really is kind and caring underneath his tough exterior.

This book made me cry. I don't remember the others doing that. This one hurt though. Adding this one to my top favorites in the series next to books 1 and 3.

I love how we still see so much in the other characters and find more reasons to love them. On to Luke's story! :)

Just like the other ones: great plot, great characters, great dynamic and chemistry between the main couple. It's a Rock Chick novel, what more can I say!?

For all that Jules was unrealistic quite a bit, and made very. very. TSTL decisions, I actually didn't hate this book... in fact I really like it, and I really think a lot of it was Vance, because helloooo sexy! However, in the end, I even like Jules, like a lot. So YAY for KA not making either of the last 2 books as absolutely terrible as Jet's books, because that one sucked. The last 2 have been good, so I can forgive Jet's book as being a fluke!

The Rock Chick formula works really well in this book. Ava's issues don't get out of hand, and she's a very likable heroine. Her brush with an "alternate hunk" does a good job setting Luke up for the next book, and her conversations with her cat had me cracking up. The obligatory "What should I wear?", "Why does everyone keep calling me?", and "Now I have a crazy Colorado family" moments were pretty forgettable, and with so many past characters it gets crowded trotting everyone out for each sequel. This is pretty noticeable with Vance, who doesn't get much development as the leading man. He has a cabin, he likes to read. That's about the only new stuff we get for Vance. Of course, now I'm off to Luke's HEA...

This is just a thought that came to me. I had to write it down.

I can't say I haven't been entertained by reading Kristin Ashley books. I've had the shit entertained out of me...but this is NOT a writer that I would let a young girl read. Kristen Ashley books seems to glorify having a strange man walk into a woman's life and tell her what to do. In a very stalker-like abuser-like way.

I mean - in this series...Jules (heroine) has known the hero for all of a week (if that). In that time he has taken her virginity, basically moved into her home, broken into her home several times, had her home bugged with mics and video and stalks her. Cause I don't know what else to call it when someone watches and follows you 24/7 without your knowledge.

Oh! I forgot. He also has tracking bugs on her car and in her purses.

    Yeah. Sexy? I think not.

And I'm only 25% in. It's going to get waaaaaaaay more OOT.

ETA: I stopped reading this book at 70%. I just couldn't take it anymore. I didn't want to read more and I found myself irritated every time I thought about finishing it. I skipped ahead to the end. It seems that Jules was pregnant but lost the baby because of trauma when she gets shot. Jules stops being a vigilante and a new girl shows up for book 5. Jules and the hero end up together. The end.

I so loved the first book, but now I'm only reading them because I like the characters and I already bought the rest. This one did not make me laugh out loud that much. If I didn't like the characters so much, it would be a 2 star rating. It is the same story again. There is no originality to the story. Alpha male meets hot chick that is in trouble. Alpha male & rest of males save the girl. Granted this girl actually can save herself. That is the only change. Right now I say read the first book of the series and let that be it.

4.4 stars- Well Holy Hot Smoking Tamales, Vance's book rocked it out ! My favorite of Lee's boys the Tall Dark Handsome Stoic Native American loner has finally found a girl he wants. He didn't pick the easy choice non of these boys would think of doing that. Law is as he puts it " A pain in his ass" and she is for more than that. He has his hands full just trying to keep a straight face let alone trying to keep her unhurt. They grow close, we learn about him and his past a bit and why he is how he is. He is a rock solid man with sex god like skills, and he wants her.
She is stalking the drug dealers who dealt the drugs that killed one of her boys in the recovery home where she works as a social worker. She runs the night pulling little pranks of them while hurting their business and just pissing them off. Vance who treats her to an experience to remember takes her safety on himself as does Lee's other boys. She trains, works her program and grows more troublesome to the dealers. The Rock Chicks pull out all the stops to welcome her into their fold and show her true friendship. She has emotional issues that try hard to keep her from getting her heart yanked out of her chest and she works hard at sabotaging her relationship. She has some Brass in her and pulls off a big bad toward the end of the book that almost ends everything.
Boo, the cat. What a talker. He has a lot to say, he has had to deal with so many troubles. Listen well to his words. ^-^

These books just get better and better as the characters develop. I love how they all connect and build upon each book before them. We get to know the MC before we dive into their personal life. The women all have some TSTL moments that have me grumbling at their stupidity. They need to be rescued, that's what these boys do, which can be a bit irritating to my feminist side. I would love to have these guys come rescue me like this in real life. There goes my image. LOL The women do get up on their own and kick arse back and I'm happy, happy, happy again. It all balances out and ends up being a fun romping romance.

I don’t know how Kristen Ashley does it, but time and time again she creates these magnificent heroes, extraordinary heroines with just enough vulnerability, a fabulous adventure, a rip-roaring romance, heart ache, friendship, and then she just wraps it up with a wonderful amount of romantic tension. I love when Jules is told to fight it (the romance) it makes it more fun for everyone :D. Boy, did Ashley hit my emotional buttons once again, she had me LOL and crying quietly. Vance and Jules are both brilliantly written characters. This is definitely going down as a one of my favorite.
