Preface
Too fast, too soon...
Anyone working in the projects space today will no doubt be familiar with the pressure to deliver too much with too few resources. This book has been written with this in mind. This is not a substitute for ongoing and indeed lifelong learning in the scrum arena, but instead is designed to provide an introduction to the Scrum framework and provide you with a breakdown of the core scrum principles.
More specifically this book is designed to help you not only learn the principles of scrum in less than 60 minutes, but to impress as much of this framework into your long term memory as possible so you can begin applying these principles.
A bit of a challenging task perhaps, to learn a new way of working, a new way of thinking in less time than it takes to watch a movie, but one that I am sure, if you are reading this that you have the appetite, the determination and the will to complete this task.
In writing this book, I have had to use a number of cutting edge models based in the field of neuro-science to try and deeply implant everything you read in the next 60 minutes into your long term memory including connecting left brain (reading, writing, listening, logic and sequence) and right brain (images, colour, music, creativity and intuition), a phenomenon known as the primary
and recency
effect and finally a number of memory consolidation techniques.
The brain has a four step process which is always followed in the formation of every new memory:
The techniques described above focus predominantly in the memory consolidation stage, which increases the likelihood of forming long term memories.
