About this ebook

Kate Conner is an expert at multi-tasking. Wife, mom, demon-hunter. She can stuff hundreds of Easter eggs for the neighborhood fair and still have enough energy to pummel a demon back into the ether.

But Kate’s life has gotten more complicated...

Her first husband has returned from the dead in the body of her daughter’s chemistry teacher. Different body, same hot desire for Kate. Her daughter now obsesses about becoming a demon-hunter the way she used to obsess about boys.

And her current husband is suddenly very suspicious of his wife’s extra-domestic activities. What is she doing and who is she doing it with?

And the threat has gotten bigger...

A powerful high demon has returned to San Diablo, seeking not only the key to invincibility, but revenge upon Kate—and Kate’s family. And just in case that wasn’t trouble enough, there’s a new kind of evil in suburbia. The walking dead kind.

And they don’t mind making house calls...

"Events are coming to a head, and Kenner's excellent pacing whips the plot forward while keeping all the emotional turmoil intact. This showdown will change everything!" RT Book Reviews 4 Stars! (on Deja Demon)

Fun premise, but I'm enjoying each book a little less than the one before.

I'm getting a bit bored of this series. Kate Connor is back, still fighting demons in a California suburb. Her dead husband, his soul back in another's body, is acting strange lately. His temper is seeming to get out of control, and he's been disappearing without explanations. When Kate hears of a prophecy about a sword and yet another demonic uprising, she's back in the fight, with a little help from her daughter this time. Finally (this is book 4, after all), Kate is forced to tell her husband of her secret life, but God, it takes forever for her to get there. I found myself rolling my eyes through a lot of this book - I just don't seem to care about the characters anymore. I'm bored with the demons, tired of Kate's angst about the secret she's keeping, and the narrator's little boy voice grates something awful. I'm done with this series.

It pains me, but I have to give "Deja Demon" an average rating. Unlike Kenner's previous Kate Connor books, I wasn't completely enthralled. Here, Kate is again working the suburban super mom by day, demon hunter by night gig. Now more friends and family know about her than not. Her daughter is a hunter in training, her best friend helps with research, and Eddie (the live in elderly man who is NOT her husband's grandpa) pitches in to help time and again. This book is very similar to the last book, except stakes have been raised a little. With her daughter actively involved, Kate spends a lot of time worried about her. David/Eric her dead husband brought back to life, is flirting with her and making her weak in the knees...unfortunately her new husband Stuart does the same. Now a super demon is about to rise and take over the world and right when Kate is in the middle of planning the neighborhood Easter Egg hunt! I actually thought the Easter Egg hunt seemed forced...there was very minimal attention given to that plot and I think it could have been used for some funny stuff. I was somewhat annoyed that everyone and their brother knew about Kate except her husband Stuart...even baby Timmy seems like he has gotten used to 'the monsters'. And I admit to thinking Stuart was kinda lame earlier in the series but he really steps things up a notch in this series, and I for one am rooting for him to end up winning the girl. The back and forth romance between Kate and Stuart or Kate and David/Eric got old. It bothered me that as a reader I couldn't even begin to guess at who she truly loved. I guess that is Kenner's point and Kate loves both...but it bothered me that she bounces between the two here. If this triangle isn't resolved in the next installment, I think its going to become a very tiresome storyline. Positives: The book still had a laugh aloud moment and amusement throughout. Kenner's writing is solid and always enjoyable. Her cast of characters is one of the best in any series and I have to give Eddie a shout out! I'd like to have seen less love triangle and more action..either with the demons or with her kids. Overall this is still very enjoyable and fans of the previous books shouldn't miss it.

I enjoyed it. Not as much as the third book, but it was still enjoyable. Although I do have to admit that I was a little lost during some of it and during the final battle. But I can't wait for the next book to come out in September.

Interesting plot but not dazzling by any means. It's not as good as the first couple books in the series, but good ending. We'll be waiting for the next book to continue the fantasy.

Fun book combining action/adventure with being a soccer mom. The plot of this one was particularly good. Can't wait for the next book.
