I found this book particularly helpful and inspiring because of how instead of simply explaining the way he thinks relationships should be, as Christians, Chip spends most of the book contrasting his view against what are popularly held beliefs about relationships (many of which Christians have adopted, sometimes without even realizing it). He spends the rest of the books (also a hefty portion) sympathizing with the hurts he sees most people suffering in modern relationships, and giving them hope that no matter where they are, single, dating, engaged, married, divorced, they can change and begin to honor God no matter how far they have wandered from his plan for relationships.
