About this ebook

Dary, an officer with the Paranormal/Research/Intelligence/Discipline and Education (PRIDE) department of the RCMP, has little time to pursue his personal interests outside of his job. As a dominant bear shapeshifter in his prime, and a taste for slim, trim boy-toys, his preference has brought him to a crossroad—his desire to find a partner to share his life with is overcast by immature males who don’t share his interests. When he learns about the 1Night Stand service and Madame Eve’s incredible track record for successful matches, he utilizes a rare weekend away from his job to indulge in some much-needed fantasy.

Rhudaii is a unique man in every imaginable way. With an unusually youthful appearance and a little known inherent bombshell of his own, he longs for a deeper connection with a man than just instant gratification. Being an avid romance junkie, Rhoo plans a getaway to a book convention in Ottawa, except surrounded by hundreds of women isn’t what he’s looking for. Instead, he arranges a date through the 1Night Stand service.

When the men meet sparks fly and the sexual tension soars. Each of them has a secret that could make or break any potential long-term relationship. But, what if they have more in common than they thought?

Kayleigh Malcolm

Best selling author Kayleigh Malcom (and her alter ego Corinne Davies) is a firm believer that all love is beautiful and everyone deserves a Happily Ever After....well except for those involved with cancelling Firefly. She's still holding a grudge over that one.She first put pen to paper in an attempt to write a love story between her and her favourite rock singer of the time. It was filled with all the angst that only a teenager can come up with and, of course, an incredible wardrobe. Years later, during the wee hours of the morning, when her first daughter insisted on waking up, she discovered online RPGs and her love of writing emerged again. After many encouraging words from fellow writers, she decided to try her hand at developing her own stories, learning it takes more than mind blowing sex and a happily ever after to make a great storyBy day, she is a full-time wife, mother, and product consultant. At night, she avoids such mundane tasks as housework and laundry by creating her own worlds where fantasy and mythology comes to life. Worlds in which you are just as likely to be living next door to an ancient Deity as finding your soul mate in steam powered flying machine.Sticking with one genre is a talent she hasn't achieved yet and can be found creating worlds as normal as our own or as fantastic as her dreams. Her characters have to face real life challenges, as many of us do, but love always finds a way to conquer all.A social media junkie, she can be found haunting many different sites and loves to hear from her readers.

    Chapter One

Dary jogged up the hotel stairs two at a time to his sixth-floor hotel room, an easy feat with his training. Hell, he’d climbed much steeper heights with a two hundred-pound rucksack on his back under a blistering sun. Five flights of stairs in an air-conditioned hotel didn’t faze.

He still maintained the body he’d developed when he’d been no more than a cub during his Royal Canadian Mounted Police basic-training days. Even with his preternatural abilities, he couldn’t allow himself to grow soft. Being assigned to the PRIDE detachment of the RCMP had been his end game from the moment he heard of it, and he hadn’t let anything get in the way of that. The Paranormal, Research, Intelligence, Discipline & Education department fielded all the unusual cases that couldn’t be explained by normal circumstances. Life was different when an opponent knew an officer had the ability to shapeshift into a bear and tear a car open with his bare hands.

After a couple close encounters with UFOs out in Saskatchewan and a dangerous uprising of fire spooks in Nova Scotia, the RCMP had developed the PRIDE detachment in the early seventies. With Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau dealing with the challenge of uniting Canada, he hadn’t wanted fear controlling the masses. All information PRIDE gathered remained confidential, thanks to the War Measures Act, thus preserving the myth of Dary’s people.

Reaching his suite, Dary dropped his equipment in the main room, relieved to be in the quiet space. A romance convention was being held in the hotel that weekend, and it felt like there’d been mobs of women and men mulling around the lobby. A quick glimpse at some of the erotic-looking banners perked his attention. It wasn’t often he spotted a larger-than-life picture of two men embracing, at least not without idiots holding picket signs nearby. But, his attention switched to something much more arousing; he had a date tonight, not a traditional one, but a sure thing, and, damn, he needed it.

His hectic work schedule over the past year hadn’t given him a chance to meet anyone, let alone go on a date. With the federal election looming on the horizon and the candidates ramping up their campaigns, security had gradually increased in relation to the candidate’s exposure. Dary had been placed in charge of the security detail for the Liberal leader, Justin Trudeau, something Dary’s mother bragged about in her quilting circle. As the youngest candidate in decades, Mr. Trudeau tended to take on higher-profile meetings, already earning enemies with his tolerant nature and obvious acceptance of hot topics like legalizing marijuana.

But, Trudeau didn’t need to be coddled like some of the other candidates. The political leader was a trained boxer, and Dary had sparred with him on a few occasions. He pitied anyone who thought to take the candidate on face to face.

    I have to stop this.

Tonight began a twenty-four hour vacation, free of work worries, allowing him to have some fun.

He changed out of his uniform and into shorts and a T-shirt. According to his watch, he had just enough time to get to the gym, work out for an hour, shower, and be ready in time for his…date. Even if he had no idea who he would be meeting, Dary wanted to impress the man.

A good session would pump his muscles and, hopefully, cool his libido. The thought of getting some action had left his cock semi-erect all day. Since Dary’s schedule didn’t allow him the time to find a sweet twink to play daddy to, he certainly couldn’t build a permanent relationship. At forty- eight, he wasn’t halfway to his life expectancy yet, but the last couple decades had been lonely ones. It would be nice to come home to someone. He wanted to snuggle a sweet cub in his arms at night.

He’d first learned about the dating service 1Night Stand and its
