      It had been snowing non-stop for nearly a week in Dayton. Normally, we don't get that much snow here, usually two or three times a year we'd get a few inches of accumulation, but this time was more than that. A lot more. The white stuff had piled up nearly two feet in the flat yards of my neighborhood, and the snowplows only made it worse near the roads.

      I'd spent the past three days inside trying to keep warm, but the food was running out and cabin fever was starting to set in.
