I thoroughly enjoyed this. Storyline, characters, the romance... everything is well written. But I especially liked this author's voice, her humour.

It's not you, Ms. Stacey, it's me. I should definitely stop reading contemporary romances, because I am having issues connecting with the heroes and heroines. Especially the heroines, alas. This said, the protagonists of "Exclusively Yours" are very likeable. Joe is a successful writer who still has not gotten over his high school sweetheart. Keri, the sweetheart in question, came back from the big city to get an interview with Joe, who then manipulates her into a camping trip with his family.I had an issue with the resolution of the main conflict (Joe wants to be with his family in the middle of nowhere, and Keri wants to work in a big city). I feel that her sudden attitude change was not as believable as it could have been, and that prevented the book from being 4 stars for me.

A cute, light read, engaging enough to spur my interest in reading more about the Kowalski family.

I read a few novellas by Shannon Stacey last year and enjoyed them, but this is the first full length novel of hers that I've read. She is becoming one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. This book is just plain fun. Joe Kowalski is a popular, reclusive author; Keri Daniels is a reporter for a tabloid celebrity magazine. She also just happens to be Joe's high school girlfriend. Joe agrees to give Keri an exclusive interview if she comes with him, and his large family, on a two week camping trip. This premise would be silly in another author's hands, but Stacey manages to make it work. My only problem with the book is the same problem I have with a lot of romance novels: the ending was WAY too drawn out. I read this one on my Kindle, so I would say the last 20% of the book (which is 352 pages long in paperback) was unnecessary and annoying, as I kept wanting to yell at the characters to just get over themselves and admit that they wanted to be together. Otherwise, a stellar read that I would recommend to fans of contemporary romance. Three and a half stars.

I think this is the pick of the bunch for me. They are all very good but this one just edges out the other 2 IMO. I enjoyed that the author clearly knew of what she spoke when it came to four wheeling and camping trips and the "tick checks" the adults required away from sensitive children's eyes and ears. I liked the secondary story with Evan and Terry and the third (thirdary?) story (which was only a little bit but just enough) with Mike and Lisa. I really like that some of the Kowalskis were already paired up and that the book showed all sorts of relationships in various states of being. Joe and Keri were not yoru average h/h as they were both "pushing 40" so that was a refreshing change too. Overall, this was a very enjoyable way to spend a few hours.

Review: Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacy 5 STARSA romantic comedy reunion made for a fun light hearted book with meaning. I felt good reading and hoping things would all work out. Their were more than one couples story to route for.Keri Daniels is a writer for a magazine in LA who's boss Tina wants a story about Joe Kowalski. Joe Kowalski does not do interviews any more. Joe writes scary horror novels. He lives in his hometown back East close to all his family.Tina just found out that her writer used to date Joe back in high school 20 years ago and wants Keri to get the scoop on Joe.Keri wanted to be a writer and famous not loose herself in being Joe's wife. So she left after graduation leaving Joe behind.Joe agrees to interview with conditions. He will answer a question everyday if she can stick it out with all his family on their two week camping trip. She can not bring phone, computer, camera or any electronic devices.Keri used to be good friends with Joe's twin sister Terry up till high school when they had a falling out. Terry's husband had left her 3 months ago, so she is in a trailer with her teenager Stephanie.Kevin is Joe's younger brother who is divorced now and owns a bar.Mike and his wife have 4 boys the youngest will be in school this year. Mike does not want any more kids. His wife does and they are having issues.Joe's parents have a big RV that they are using and his mom and Keri's mom are still good friends.I like that we learn a little about more than just Keri and Joe's story. How all relationships change and marriage is work not just the end of the story. I want to know more about them all and hope to read more about the Kowalski family in the future.I had a great time readimg about them all. I was given this ebook to read in exchange of honest review by Netgalley.as reviewed on readalot blog

This book tells the story of Keri and Joseph who have a history way back during their teens. When Keri's boss accidently found out that Keri have a close relationship with Joe before. she issued a ultimum to her; to contact Joe and get an exclusive interview or to seek for another employment. Realising that there was no way out for her, she reluctantly went to Joe. He agreed to an interview provided that she spent two weeks with his family on a camping outing for two weeks in exchange for a question for everyday that she spend with his family. The spark between the two of them remaining strong even after 20 years when Keri decided to leave for her careers thus abandoning their love.Reading such a story plot evoke many emotion in me and i would say that the author did an excellence job in trigger such an emotion from the reader. I like both Keri and Joe. So is Terry, although she was a bitch to Keri. The author have created many likeable characters in this book which was something of interest to me. ;) It was certainly an enjoyable read for me and i cant wait for the next installation of Kowalski Family #2; Undeniably Yours!

I really, really, really enjoyed reading this book. I loved everything about it. This book in some sort of way reminded me a little of The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. Joe and Keri were high school sweathearts and loved each other very dearly, until one day Keri decides that she wants to move to California to pursue a career in Journalism. Keri leaves Joe back in New Hampshire heart broken and confused. Joe is so hurt by Keri leaving him that he turns to alcohol and slowly becomes an alcoholic. He pretty much drinks from the minute he opens his eyes to the minute he closes them. He begins to write novels and eventually becomes a famous writer. Only Joe never makes appearances or gives interviews to anyone. He just likes to write his books and move on. Joe quits drinking some where down the line and gets his life back on track and continues to write his novels and spend more time with his family. It's been 20 years since Keri started her life in California and is a journalist working for a really good company. Until one day her boss gets a tip that Keri and Joe used to date and that they were once in love. She tells Keri that she either gets an interview with Joe or she is fired. Keri heads back home and is not looking forward to it at all. Joe get's word that Keri is in town and immediately knows exactly why, but that does not change the fact the he wants to see her. But Joe does not make things easy for Keri at all. He tells Keri that if she wants her interview she has to agree to a two week get away with him and his family with no phone, computer, or any type of device. He thought Keri would say no only to be shocked when she agrees. Keri's job is very important to her and she was willing to do anything to get that interview. Of course when she gets there Joe's sister is not very happy. She hates Keri for leaving her brother and is afraid that when she leaves again it will ruin Joe all over. That is where everything really kicked off. I could not put this book down and could not stop thinking about it. I really enjoyed it. It was super funny and I could not help but fall in love with Keri and Joe. A good read and I am looking forward to reading more books by Shannon Stacey. I really like the way she writes and I recommend this book.

High school sweethearts may not always stay in love with each other, but the old spark doesn't always die. Keri dumped Joe back in the day in favor of pursuing her career; now, she needs to get a story out of him to save said career. Somehow during their reunion, Joe proposes a challenge for Keri to join his family's annual camping and four-wheeling trip with the ulterior motive of winning her back. You'd think that it'd be impossible to like the girl that would dump a nice guy like Joe and to cheer on the guy who's trying to get back said girl. The problem is that Keri is a nice girl herself; she's just set her priorities wrong these past years. Watching Keri mentally steel herself for everything Joe sent at her, getting closer to his family, and yearning for Joe's life, I couldn't help rooting the two of them on. Reading the book from their alternating perspectives, it's obvious that they still have lingering feelings for each other. Joe puts himself out there from the start, but Keri is determined to restrain herself. Not only is she there to get a human interest story off the bestselling author, she doesn't want to give up her career. Side plots involve a whole bunch of family drama between other couples in the family. Exclusively Yours is about second chances, about letting yourself fall in love again, even if it means that you'll be hurt once more. Shannon Stacey is an amazing author with a gift for plot, realistic characters, and hooking in the readers. If you don't mind adult scenes and are looking for a fun romantic story filled with characters with a great sense of humor, you don't want to miss this novel!

Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey is the first of a contemporary romance trilogy starring the Kowalski family. I somehow managed to read this and the third book - but not the second. Of the two I read, this one is definitely my favorite.Keri Daniels works for a big time magazine, and her editor discovers that she was high school sweethearts with Joe Kowalski...a famous and reclusive author. The Joe Kowalski whose heart Keri might have broken after high school graduation when she left town to follow her dreams. Now her editor is demanding an interview, and her job is on the line. Awkward.Well, the awkward is just beginning for Keri. Joe decides to make things as difficult as possible and tells Keri he'll only grant her the interview if she comes along on his family's yearly vacation. Enter Joe's completely insane family - including his sister, Keri's ex best friend - and you have got a wild ride in store for you! I call his family insane, but I actually loved them. The characterization is extremely well done...from the main characters on down the line. This is very much a character-driven novel, and luckily both Keri and Joe have fantastic and complex personalities worthy of carrying the book. Both their interactions together and those with the rest of Joe's family leave nothing to be desired. Keri's initial fumbling and anxiety at being around the Kowalskis turns quickly into her fitting right back in with them like she never left. Now she has to try and decide if she made a mistake back when she was eighteen - should she have chosen her career over Joe?If you're a fan of contemporary romance, this is a book definitely worth reading! It has a slew of hilarious interactions, but mixed in are several very poignant moments exploring the different relationship problems some of the characters are facing. It has a little bit of everything, and I enjoyed reading all of it!

This is my June Series Read so the reviews are done in Quick Format!Bought for MyselfOverall Series Rating 4.0Character Rating: 4.25Story Rating: 3.75Note: This series was recommended by a friend of mine, Christi, and I am so glad I read it. These are quick, fun, summer contemporary romance reads that had me laughing---ALOT! They are going into my Snort Club and for the record, you can never get to many Kowalskis)!Exclusively Yours: The first book in the series did a great job of introducing us to the Kowalski Family! They are loud, fun, loyal to each other, and when Keri comes back into Joe's life after leaving him over a decade ago, they are all a little weary. Except for Mama Kowalski, I think she has very good mama bear instincts! The best part of this book was the Kowalski camping trip and how it allowed all the stories in the book to play out. You will laugh often while reading!

Exclusively Yours is the first book in the Kowalski Family series by Shannon Stacey.

After hearing so many great things about Shannon Stacey’s books I knew I have to read something by her, soon. Thanks my luck this book was available in NetGalley.

The blurb describes pretty well what this book is about, I don’t think it’s necessary to add more to it. Adding more will be too spoilerish.

I started Exclusively Yours with an open mind and not high expectations, but I can honestly say this book was a great surprise. I really liked everything about it and since page one I was ensnared in the story. The characters felt real and well developed, I’m not just talking about main characters but secondary characters too. They all have different personalities and characteristics. This made them feel more alive and at the same time easier to connect with.

Keri has worked hard to obtain her dreams and to get where she is. But now she is walking the tightrope, she wants to succeed in her career but not at the expense of her principles. She had the material in her hands to write the article of her lifetime but she could never live with herself if she did that; this made me really admired her and liked her even more. I also loved that she had insecurities, she knows she is not the same eighteen year old girl that Joe knew, nor has the same body, time has passed and even though she takes care of herself years and gravity have affected her, or at least that was what she thinks, making her feel more real and easy to relate to.
I have never camped, not once in my life and just thinking about it I get the willies, for that reason more than once I identified myself with Keri. I guess many of her reactions to the different situations could have been my own reactions; this made the book an even funnier read for me.

Joe was a great character, he was sweet, caring, sexy, smart, funny and honest. *swoon* I loved his need to keep his life private and that he hasn’t let himself be blinded by fame and fortune. He’s still the same Joe Keri dated in high school, just with expensive toys.

The chemistry between these two was off the charts, since their first encounter is was pretty obvious things haven’t changed with time and seeing them fight this attraction was not only entertaining but hilarious at a times.

Apart from the main plot there are two small subplots, one involves Joe’s sister and her husband and the other one involves one of Joe’s brothers and his wife. These secondary stories didn’t subtract attention to the main story but complemented the plot as a whole.

As I said before, the secondary characters were all different and entertaining, and as in all stories some easier to like than others. Their interrelationships were honest and true to their characterizations.
Mrs. Stacey’s writing style is fluid and spotless making of Exclusively Yours a-difficult-to-put-down-book.

All in all I liked Exclusively Yours and its characters so much that as soon as I finish reading it I stated the second book in this series, Undeniable Yours.
I can truthfully tell you that all the hype behind Mrs. Stacey books is real. If you are a lover of contemporary romance you should give this book and this author a chance, I can guarantee you you won’t regret it.

EXCLUSIVELY YOURS was, for me, one of those uncommon cases where a part of me liked the synopsis slightly more than the actual story. I never ended up being a fan of Keri: with the book describing her as just short of being stereotypically “high school cheerleader perfect,” I just didn’t find myself empathizing with her poor-li’l-me romantic troubles. Realistic heroines, wherefore art thou? I did like Joe—except for, you know, the part where his fatal flaw was his soft spot for Keri. And most readers will probably get a blast out of the titillating dialogue between the Kowalskis. Personally, there’s a line I draw as to what I will or will not discuss around family members, and having your siblings point out your massive, unending erection all throughout the camping trip falls on the other side of that line for me. Still, the sibling teasing makes for funny moments and is what makes this book stand out among other similar titles.I’m undecided as to whether I will continue with this series, on account of the fact that if I have to read about one more super-perfect woman worrying about nails and hair and pores in the middle of the woods I might throw a fit, but romance readers looking for a love-conquers-all tale with a hearty dose of raunchy family thrown in should look towards EXCLUSIVELY YOURS.

Exclusively Yours is compelling love story about a woman trying to make her dream of being a successful journalist a reality. When her future endeavors require her to visit the past to succeed; she is finds herself facing the biggest struggle of all. Joe and Kiera were high school sweethearts, but with her sights set on glamour and glitz she makes a drastic decision to leave it all behind for her career. Without a second thought Kiera threw herself into a determined battle for honor in respect in the journalism world, but with Joe a best selling honor fiction author she knew it was only a matter of time before their paths would cross again. When Kiera's boss finds information on the couple's past she is desperate for an exclusive interview with the private author, and offers Kiera a ultimatum for her job.Kiera is a down to earth girl that I find very entertaining. While she has learned to love the finer things in life from the big city; she seems to fit into the country girl aspects as well. She seems to be a genuine person, but being career driven has left her misunderstood by many. While others saw it as easy for her to pick up and leave; it was truthfully the hardest things she ever did but a necessary sacrifice for her dreams. I loved this character more and more as the story progressed, but was frustrated with her lack of realization of what she really has in front of her.Joe on the other hand is dreamy and wonderful in every way. As a family man he is dedicated and protective, and as a business man he is straight and to the point. I loved learning more about his character, and seeing the ease of forgiveness. After the love his life walking away twenty years ago he was not bitter and resentful, but loving and trusting to the very core. This is the man of dreams that any woman would welcome with open arms. It was easy to comprehend the depths of Joe's good natured and loving personality after meeting his family. They are the real deal; with enough love to go around and their own fair share of problems but they have the loyalty that will allow them to overcome anything. They are the type of family that would make you crazy, but you could never trade them for all the world.Kiera soon learns this first hand when Joe makes her a deal for an exclusive interview in exchange for a two week vacation with his whole family. To be a successful journalist sacrifices must be made, but little does she know in the woods surrounds by mud and mosquitos she will discover her true desires and something much more important than a promotion. Leaving her at a crossroads yet again, but with this second chance will she make the same choice.
