Interesting for its association with Sherlock Holmes, who supposedly used this method to throw Moriarty into the Reichenbach Falls. It appears to be a functional system of self-defense, combining jiu-jitsu, which the author learned as an engineer in Japan, with other elements, notably stick-fighting. It is illustrated by many photographs. Socially, it is interesting for some of the scenarios such as removing an unpleasant drink from a party. Overall, however, it is not especially exciting if one is not a martial artist.
