Introduction: words and money - the struggle for attention
Hi fellow writer
Welcome.
There's never been a better time to be a writer.
Today, you can write something in an hour which can change your life — or someone else's life. You can write something in eight hours which will make you thousands of dollars a day, and give you an on-going income for life.
Words and money: the challenge
Yes, there's money in words, but there's a HUGE challenge for creators too.
It's this.
Writing is an art, as well as a business. These two activities require very different mindsets. How do you develop and maintain your creativity, while also focusing on hard-headed business strategies?

I'd managed to get my my first Internet connection a decade earlier. In the 1980s, the web
wasn't even a gleam in anyone's eye. I could see the world changing however, and was beyond excited that this publishing company saw that too. They meant to harness the web for their business.
The road to hell, as they say, is paved with good intentions.
Fast forward 20 years, and that wonderful publishing
