About this ebook

This is Jane. A little subdued. A little stubborn. A little tired of going out on blind dates with men who drive vans with sofas in the back, Jane Alcott is living the Single Girl existence in the big city. She is also leading a double life. By day, she’s a reporter covering the raucous Seattle Chinooks hockey team—especially their notorious goalie Luc Martineau. By night, she’s a writer, secretly creating the scandalous adventures of “Honey Pie”, the magazine series that has all the men talking.

Luc has made his feelings about parasite reporters—and Jane—perfectly clear. But if he thinks he’s going to make her life miserable, he’d better think again. For as long as he can remember, Luc has been single-minded about his career. The last thing he needs is a smart-mouthed, pain-in-the-backside reporter digging into his past and getting in his way. But once the little reporter sheds her black and gray clothes in favor of a sexy red dress, Luc sees that there is more to Jane than originally meets the eye.

Maybe it’s time to take a risk. Maybe it’s time to live out fantasies. Maybe it’s time to...See Jane Score.

Editor's Note

Hockey romance...

Sexy Seattle Chinooks ice hockey goalie Luc Martineau and short, wannabe sports reporter Jane Alcott are both super sweet and relatable. Watching these opposites attract is great fun.

While sports romances are not really my thing, Rachel Gibson's Chinooks books are light and fun and sexy.

Jane is a wonderful heroine full of spirit and sass, and Luc is a real charmer despite his decidedly self-absorbed personality.

The minor conflict revolving around Jane's "secret career" is, thankfully, well-written and not overly drawn out or angsty.

In sum, a lovely read for a rainy day. Looking forward to reading more in the series.

Interesting story with a good plot about a woman breaking into what is normally a mans job. I liked the side characters such as hero's sister but I felt the romance was a bit weak with too much denial. Jane is assigned as reporter for hockey team but is shut out by players especially goalie Luc.

I liked this one, it was funny and cute. My one complaint is this: Why on EARTH does any type of character who writes secretly ALWAYS write something totally obvious and stupid?

    Also, the tattoo? Totally smokin'

WOW!! I absolutely loved this book. It just seemed to be perfect for me. Being a former hockey player myself probably made me love it as much as i did. It seemed very authentic to me and you can tell the author put some effort into gathering information about the game rather than just making up her own version just to be able to use the hockey theme. I was very impressed by this. Didn't expect that at all. Also didn't think hockey would play that much of a role in the storyline.

But even apart from the hockey theme I thought the story was quite realistic. The characters are very well developed and very likeable. Especially Lucs relationship with his sister made him so much more "human". I don't think I have ever shown this much reation to a book before. I giggled and laughed out loud so many times, it's not even funny. That was probably partly the case because I could relate so much of the little details to my own hockey experience but none the less it just really touched me and made me feel all tingly inside.

Too bad I found out too late that this was part of a series. I will definitely have to read the other books in this series, too, sometime. I can hardly wait <3

See Jane Score was the first book I read by Rachel Gibson. After reading this book, I went out and bought more books by Gibson. Jane and Luc were great characters, who were well matched. Jane a reporter was assigned an NHL reporting job, and Luc was the goalie on the hockey team. They both butted heads over a women being a reporter. This caused conflict that was fixed by the end of the book.
