About this audiobook

Meet Mia, the kitten who loves ballet! This sweet I Can Read story’s warm, tender text and dance dictionary is perfect for fans of the Tallulah books and for aspiring ballerinas of all ages.

On her first day at dance class, Mia can’t wait to put on her bouncy pink tutu. There’s only one problem: her tutu is too-too big! It falls down and Mia falls over it with every step. But just as Mia starts to get upset, she meets Ruby—and Mia realizes that no setback is too hard to handle with a good friend by your side.

Mia and the Too Big Tutu is a My First I Can Read book, which means it’s perfect for shared reading with a child.

I enjoyed this story and I believe many young children would as well. The big message was shown through its illustrations, explaining that everyone is different and that is ok. Being the main character was a cat and her friend was a giraffe allows the reader to imagine. The illustrations were very detailed as well as the story line. The story line was explained slowly and thorough for young readers. The characters were described using descriptive detail through the story and the illustrations. “Mia grins from ear to ear” explained the story, showing examples of how the characters react. It was a great way for the reader to imagine the situation and understand how excited the character was.

Mia the kitten is ready to go to ballet! She can't wait to turn and twirl in her tutu, just like her sister does. When Mia leaves for her first dance class, she gets dressed and realizes she has a big problem: her tutu is way TOO big! She accidentally packed her sister's tutu! Every time she takes a step, her tutu falls and she trips over it. All of the tripping is starting to make Mia too upset to dance. She starts to give up until she meets up with her friend Ruby, who reminds her that with a little self-confidence and help from your friends, you can do anything. An enjoyable easy reader that any young dancer would enjoy.
