Just not what I was hoping for. I wanted it so bad.. it was boring, filled with detailed spells and how to do them supernatural guides, IS files, Newspaper articles, song verses, maps, all stuffed in a reporter journal. Really I got nothing out of it that I did not already know. There was so correspondences from/to Trent that I expected to be interesting but they really did not give anymore away. The books had mush more exciting details. I am just not interested in how to do the spells or the detailed write ups on the paranormal crowd. Thos would be a great book for those people who love the little details.

Short and quick. I wasn't reading anything new except the music inspirations that Harrison used during her writing process of the Hollows series. Also the timeline was useful in grasping the events from before Rachel and Ivy leaving the I.S. I would have liked to have seen more characters included in on this timeline, but I suppose I'm shut down for now. I hope there will be a more updated version of this soon.
    Cheers and Happy reading!

if you can, get the hardback version of this book. The ebook just doesn't show the way this one does. (The cover also glows in the darK which is nerdy cool.A great companion, it helps to fill in the other POV since the series is written from rachel's perspective. Pretend news clippings and letters between the secondary characters, fill in many details that are not found in the series. A must read for fans of the Hollows.

As companion guides go, it's not top-notch - but it's still pretty good.Harrison uses a fictional character as the narrator for the information contained in the companion guide, which is an interesting take on assembling what is essentially designed to be a manual of information so that the reader doesn't have to go back and re-read every book in a series to remember the little details that will inevitably crop up in a new release.Though it isn't comprehensive - which the method of telling the story through an outside character accounts for why it isn't more detailed, to the guide's detriment - it's still a fun "Insider" book that fans of the series will enjoy reading through. It could certainly use an index (it's supposed to be a Hollows encyclopedia after all), but I enjoyed the design enough to make up for the missing elements.

It was a handy reference to the Hollows and it's inhabitants to date.It gave tidbits and not too many spoilers, (but some are there!)from a very minor character. I admit that I gave a snicker or two with the summation of the problems he had with Jenks and his family.
