      I have no clue as to why anyone would read this -- or the other two volumes I read -- let alone publish it.

      Dies ist nun schon der dritte Sammelband von sehr sehr kleinen Geschichten, die in wenigen Worten eine Menge zu erzählen haben. Dabei wird dem Leser in einem oder auch zwei Sätzen eine eigene Gedankenwelt geöffnet, die viel Raum für die individuelle Fantasie hat.So kann sich jeder selbst ausmalen, was wohl der Hintergrund zu diesen Sätzen ist. Was mag vorher passiert sein? Was wird vielleicht noch passieren? Warum ist es so, wie es ist?Untermalt werden die Geschichten durch kleine Zeichnungen von verschiedenen Künstlern, die ihre eigene Interpretation zum Besten geben. Die Bilder zu den Worten sind immer liebevoll gestaltet und traumhaft schön.Der Schauspieler Joseph Gordon-Levitt sammelt seit vielen Jahren auf seiner Seite hitrecord.org hunderte solcher Geschichten mit entsprechenden Bilder dazu und hat nun schon insgesamt drei Bände der Tiny Stories auf den Markt gebracht. Die Bücher erscheinen nur in englisch, doch die Zeichnungen machen es möglich, dass sie von Groß und Klein verstanden werden können.So wird jede Seite zu einem eigenen Erlebnis. Man blättert sich durch die Geschichten, die allesamt zum Träumen einladen. Bei einigen, die mir besonders gut gefielen, verweilte ich auch ein Minütchen länger und ließ den Text und die Bildsprache auf mich wirken.Ich empfehle dieses Bändchen und die vorausgegangenen allen Träumern und Inspirierten unserer Zeit.

      Well isn't this just the most delightful thing ever. 51 "stories" that combine a sentence or two with art to tell a story, by a wide range of artists and poets. Some are deep, some silly, some dark, some playful. I will definitely hunt down Volumes 1 & 2.Recommended for: people who like whimsy and illustrated books.

      Another spectacular collection, with exceptional illustrations and stories that really seem to be growing from one volume to the next. The tiny story format would seem to be so constrictive on the surface, but really? It's about what those one, two, three sentences set off in your mind - not about how tiny they might be. Just delightful.

      Joseph Gordon Levitt does it again with the third edition of the Tiny Book of Tiny Stories. It is an enjoyable collection of super short stories and artwork that hits the emotional spot. From the minds of many collaborators these bits are inspirational, poetic, creative, funny, and quite stimulating. Some more than others; but still it’s a cool book.
