- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I did really like this series, though it is not for the squeamish. I was not sure how it would end, but like the fairy tale of the namesake, it does have a happy ever after.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The first two Sleeping Beauty books were amazing! I can't wait to see how the story ends!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The series ended just right, though some part of me believes it was a little abrupt.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Beauty's ReleaseBy Anne Rice (A.N. Roquelaure)An exceptionally erotic tale of sexual submission, dominance, opulence and forbidden encounters.Beauty is a stunningly beautiful princess who is sent away from her kingdom as a punishment, along with several other gorgeous princess & princes. They journey to the land of the Sultan and they become sexual slaves, though a few fight against the dominance they are forced to submit to.Beauty's Release is a very explicit, erotic/homo-erotic tale that will titillate you around each and every corner.A dazzling book that I recommend!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Imagine you're one of dozens of eligible princes presenting a suit for the hand of the lovely Princess Beauty. She takes you into a room, commands you to strip, examines you, violates you, whips you, then rejects you outright, stating that she is looking for a husband who will command her, not be her slave. This is NOT your typical fairy tale. Sure, there's the typical "happily ever after," but getting there made me giggle.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sex scenes are amazing, thank you Anne Rice :) I wasn't expecting the level of abuse in this one, but still found it mostly exciting. Some of the storyline was captivating, but a few parts fell a little flat for me.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5It's a bad job of writing erotica when, while parsing through assorted emotional meanderings, angsty moments, and kink sex, one notices continuity errors.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Absolutely filthy...and titillating. These books are the id with a cat-o-nine-tails in hand. A dirty, dirty fairy tale surprisingly interlaced with innocence.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I liked this book quite a bit, but I would have liked to read it more in Beauty's point of view. It was still probably the best book in the trilogy and I totally loved the ending. It surprised me, but I loved it.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This third part of the trilogy is less engaging than either of the first two novels, and doesn't quite stand up to the standard set in the writing either. Still, it's not a bad read...just a bit disappointing after having read the first two.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A lot more of this story is told from the perspective of another slave, Prince Laurent, than Beauty's. Beauty's adventures are rather tame in comparison to Laurent's while they (Beauty, Tristan, Laurent, and a couple others) are kidnapped and held captive in the palace of an Arab sultan. Laurent manages to master one of the sultan's closest advisers, and in so doing become the most dynamic character and the hero of the piece. Fans of the trilogy will rejoice in the ending which promises Beauty's forever-after happiness, but those more squeamish about male on male sexual action will not be pleased with this volume. Personally, I thought it was an above average piece of erotica and mourn Rice's recent conversion to religion which almost guarantees she will not return to writing in this genre.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The final story in the Beauty trilogy. Some of this was really silly - slaves bound and painted gold as statues, the harem full of women who become obsessed with Beauty - but the boys are kind of hot. I do love the toppy slave and the slavemaster. And the ending . Beauty certainly gets what she wants in the end (no pun intended).
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I love the subplot and the finale of this series. The sex is kinky and a bit extreme, but the explanation of the sub/dom desires are spot-on.
