About this ebook

#1 New York Times and USA Today Bestseller

“J. Lynn creates a wonderful cast of characters that will make you laugh, swoon, and cry. Cam stole my heart.”

—Cora Carmack, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Losing It

Some things are worth waiting for...

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago--an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing...

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple.... Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring their simmering tension becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet...

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls—forcing her to face a past she wants silenced—she has no other choice but to acknowledge that she will not be allowed to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, can she resurface this time with one less scar? And will Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for...

I have been collecting this series forever, and just never grabbed for it. I am not sure why as I love JLA! I decided to start and now I am not sure if I can stop! I absolutely loved this! I just love Cam! He says he is not a good guy, but that is all he is too Avery. I absolutely loved him and I loved the relationship between the two. I loved how even though they meet within the first few pages, their relationship was still slow to develop. It was not too insta-lovey.This does have triggers for rape and self-harming behaviors. I do not know what else to say but that I need the second book now!

Avery Morgansten didn't move thousands of miles from home to go a prestigious college like most rich kids or even move for a big chance at a career. She moved for a fresh start, to a small town and a small college to start over and get away from the drama that was her life. Its refreshing to be in a place where nobody knows the rumors, nobody judges and nobody bothers her.Avery never thought in a million years a beautiful boy with bright blue eyes would change her life, would make her fall in love and feel things she never expected. Things she thought died years ago.....Cameron Hamilton is alluring, gorgeous and one the most eligible bachelors at school, meeting him is the most unexpected and thrilling thing that's ever happened to Avery, but shes scared, scared of relationships and scared of being hurt.Only the town and the parents Avery left behind know about the "incident" that happened when Avery was fourteen, the secrets and rumors that followed her throughout highschool and the devastation that followed after. To them Avery was flawed and weak, a girl who lied and ran away, but to Cam, Avery is a breath of fresh air, he wants her and is willing to wait, go at her pace but doesn't know how long he can wait if she wont trust him. There is no moving forward when no trust is in the relationship and those are darts that keep stalling them. Avery craves Cam's friendship and the intimacy he offers but between her shame, her fear and the secrets shes still hiding not even the overwhelming desire she feels can bring her to move out of the past.(Pinterest)I had so much fun reading this book, I absolutely adored Avery and Cam's friends to lovers relationship and had tons of laugh out loud moments reading their banter and the development of each layer that progressed the couple closer. It was sizzling where it needed to be and authentic and real at the most crucial times. I think what I appreciated the most about the writing was the moving portrayal of Avery's character growth- she went from scared and isolated to working through her grief and fear without the use of the hot male or other characters. Cam and the sidekick of friends of course created desire and longing in Avery to have the normal and gave her a push in the right direction, but I loved that she came to terms with her sexuality on her own and experienced her evolving emotions by taking things at her own pace especially in the sex department with and without Cam. Lynn-aka Jennifer Armentrouts female characters never fail to be independent, endearing young women. This book made me so happy I wanted to stand up and reenact the scenes, doing both Cam and Avery's parts. I was excited, shocked, gaspy, swoony and loved every minute of this romantic, sexy and empowering story.

This was a very good read! I couldn't put the book down, ended up reading it all in one night. No sleep for me!

I liked the book a lot, the characters were all very believable, and the story didn't have all the devastation and utter turmoil that many books use to keep the reader emotionally involved. It wasn't boring, and it didn't make me want to pull my hair out. I liked that!!

The heroine was a bit of an idiot for some of the book, but it was very in keeping with the character! And, the end was a bit lame-ish. But, over all, no real complaints.

I especially liked the time-frame, so much better than the insta-love books!! It spanned a realistic amount of time before the characters were talking love. And even the professions of love weren't over the top and annoyingly intense. They were honest sounding, realistic, totally believable, and this is one of the first books I've read in a long time that didn't make me wanna barf at the professions of ever enduring instant love.

    A good read!

A magnificently compelling story about overcoming tragedy and rebuilding life. When Avery Morgansten moves away to attend college, she plans to find herself again after a horrible, life alternating high school experience, but what she doesn’t plan on is Cameron Hamilton. After meeting Avery, Cam can’t seem to get her out of his head. He simply can’t get enough of her, and fate seems to be on his side. Though Avery is determined to keep her distance from the gorgeous man who keeps turning up everywhere, she finds that she simply can’t. She’s drawn to him as much as he is to her. As Cam and Avery develop a friendship and eventually relationship, Avery’s past and vulnerability threaten to destroy the happiness they have found. Avery must find a way to trust Cam with the truth of her past or risk losing him forever.I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down! Cam’s character is delicious! From his outgoing, lovable, can’t take no side, to his brutally protective and brooding side, he is the perfect hero! Every time Avery retreated into her shell and pushed Cam away, I found myself inwardly yelling at her “NO!” This book will draw you into the emotional roller coaster that Avery is experiencing and have you urging her to just trust Cam with her heart and the truth. I commend the author for addressing such a sensitive subject and showing how much it can scar a person, both socially and emotionally. I loved how Avery worked through her pain, fears, and anger and learned to trust in someone who really loved and cared about her. A phenomenal read by J. Lynn. A must read! Jennifer Armentrout did it again. I mean one minute I'm on page 10, the next I'm on page 100! She sucks me into her stories every, single time and I'm mesmerized by her brilliant storytelling. Cam is the guy every woman wants to snag. Yes, he's got baggage, but not so much that he's a jerk or Avery is trying to change him. THIS is why I love Wait for You and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

I read this one through in pretty much one sitting, once I got going. Avery was pretty broken when this book started, and it really took her a long time before any growth was seen. Cam was a total dream, he was kind and caring, flirty and funny, and most of all, very patient with Avery and her issues. Not exactly "you my woman!" alpha, I could read about guys like Cam every day. We don't get enough gorgeous regular guys in our books, they always have to be some kind of alpha male bad ass, or just plain bad boy with a heart of gold buried deep inside.

I almost lost patience with Avery a few times. I know she had her issues. I understood that, I got where they came from, and god, did she have every right. But after a while, I just wanted her to stop and realize that Cam of all people would NEVER judge her like everyone she used to know did. I wanted to cheer when she finally woke up and told him everything.

This was my first book by this author. It did have a few editing issues, wrong words used here and there, but not enough to really drag me out of the story. I guess these days, a read with so few errors is actually a very good thing. I will be checking out more by this author though, and soon.

    J. Lynn is a pseudonym for Jennifer L. Armentrout, author of two very popular ya paranormal series Lux and Covenant. As is often case with popular young adult books, I haven't read them yet but I heard a lot of praise from my friends. So, when opportunity to read and review Wait for You presented itself, I jumped to it. After reading Wait for You I must say I do not regret my decision. Ok, maybe I regret it a little bit since this book kept me awake long after midnight. I could not put it down until I finished it. The romance was so intense and I devoured it with baited breath. So be warned, make sure to have a lot of free time because when you start reading, because Wait for You will become glued to your fingers. Wait for You may not bring anything new to the new adult contemporary romance market. You have probably read similar stories before about heroine who goes to college, has scars from past but some handsome playboy and a group of friends help her to overcome them. But Wait for You held my attention, it's a very well written romance novel. One of my favorite aspect of the book was relationship between Cam and Avery. It was intense, it has slow-building, it has a lot of snark. They kept pushing and teasing each other and I enjoyed every single wordplay. I do not like relationship that miraculously happen, I liked it that they had to work at it. If you are looking for a perfect summer read and you love new adult contemporary romance novels set in college, I warmly recommend Wait for You. You'll get swoon-worthy hero and that happy buzz from real friendship. On the hot sun the pages are just going to melt away... Disclaimer: I was given a free eBook by the publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for a honest review.

I've seen some really negative reviews of this book, but I don't really understand why. Sure, it isn't perfect, but it is really good. It is definitely worthy of more than one or two stars. The characters are complex. The background of what Avery is going through is fully developed. It is easy to empathize with most of the characters, with the exception of Avery's mom.The worst part of the whole book for me was that the writer seemed to not understand that rape doesn't take away a person's virginity. I know a lot of people are uninformed about that, but sexual assault, abuse, and rape do not make a person a non-virgin. They are acts of abuse and power that just happen to be done in a sexual manner. They are ways of objectifying a victim. Being raped is no more of a way to lose one's virginity than being drowned is of making a person a fish. And it seemed that different types of assaults were labelled as being better or worse than others, i.e. that Avery's rape would have been morally different if it had been via a different method. That was rather alarming. Being violated and abused is different for every single person.Other than that, I enjoyed the story quite a bit. It had an unusual setup, and but it was pretty good. I hope the next book in this series is an improvement, but I'll probably enjoy it even if it stays at the same level.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales.Quick & Dirty: Very steamy contemporary with fun characters and a cute sad story of love and growth.Opening Sentence: There were two things in life that scared the ever-loving crap out of me.The Review:Avery Morgansten can’t wait to get away from home and start college. She was raised in Texas by a very wealthy family. When she was 14 something terrible happened and high school was a nightmare for her because of it. She has picked a college that is 3000 miles away so she can start over and no one knows who she is or what happened to her in the past. She has pretty much lived in a shell for the last four years and getting away from her old life is very liberating, but very scary at the same time. She has a lot to adjust to like having new friends and the possibility dating. On Avery’s first day of school she literally runs into the hottest guy on campus, Cameron Hamilton. Cam is the epitome of your hot jock/party boy. He has the reputation of a being quite a player around campus and that is not someone Avery wants to associate with, but unfortunately for Avery she keeps seeing Cam everywhere. She has astronomy with him and he happens to live across the hall from him. He has seemed to take an interest in her, but Avery isn’t sure she is ready for any kind of romantic relationship. She has such a horrible past that she doesn’t feel comfortable sharing with anyone, and how can you be in a relationship if you can’t be honest. But Cam is very persistent, and Avery can’t help but find him very attractive. She feels some of her walls coming down and she knows that she won’t be able to resistant him forever, but she also knows that any relationship she starts is doomed to fail.Avery is a cute girl that really has a lot to learn about life and love. She has never really been shown much love in her life, her parents pretty much ignored her and she hasn’t had any friends for a long time. She has let her past affect her life so much that she is missing her future. She has lived in a shell for so long that she really doesn’t know how to break down the wall she has built. Fortunately for her she meets some people who care and are interested enough to try and get to know her. As she starts to open up she becomes a person again. She is stubbornly independent and she has a fun personality. There were times when I felt Avery took steps back throughout the book which was frustrating to me, but overall I really liked her as a character.Cam is a very swoon worthy male. He is the brooding dark haired blue eyed hottie that you dream you could meet someday. He is totally over confident, but he really is a nice person. He knows he is good looking and he’s not afraid to go after what he wants. He has a little bit of a temper and is very protective of people he cares about. He is immediately intrigued by Avery and he can’t help but pursue her. He knows that she has a past he just hopes she can open up to him. He has a past as well and he would never judge her. I loved Cam, he really was perfect almost too perfect at times. This story was so much fun to read. In true Jennifer Armentrout fashion this book has some very steamy scenes, but a fair warning — this books sexual scenes are a lot more descriptive than any of her young adult books. There is also a lot more vulgarity. I love Jennifer’s writing, it is so character driven and her stories are so interesting. I do have to admit that the plot wasn’t the most original, but it was still a great read. I honestly had a hard time putting it down, but I did feel that the ending dragged on just a little bit. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to anyone that likes a good steamy contemporary read.Notable Scene:Racing up the wide staircase, I barreled through the double doors and smacked right into a brick wall.Stumbling backward, my arms flailed like a cracked-out crossing guard. My overpacked messenger bag slipped, pulling me to one side. My hair flew it front of my face, a sheet of auburn that obscured everything as I teetered dangerously.Oh dear God, I was going down. There was no stopping it. Visions of broken necks danced in my head. This was going to suck so—Something strong and hard went around my waist, stopping my free fall. My bag hit the floor, spilling overpriced books and pens across the shiny floor. My pens! My glorious pens rolled everywhere. A second later I was pressed against the wall. The wall was strangely warm. The wall chuckled. “Whoa,” a deep voice said. “You okay, sweetheart?” The wall was so not a wall. It was a guy. My heart stopped and for a frightening second, pressure clamped down on my chest and I couldn’t move or think. I was thrown back five years. Stuck. Couldn’t move. Air punched from my lungs in a painful rush as tingles spread up the back of my neck. Every muscle locked up. “Hey,” the voice softened, edged with concern. “Are you okay?” I forced myself to take a deep breath—to just breathe. I needed to breathe. Air in. Air out. I had practiced this over and over again for five years. I wasn’t fourteen anymore. I wasn’t there. I was here, halfway across the country. Two fingers pressed under my chin, forcing my head up. Startling, deep blue eyes framed with thick, black lashes fixed on mine. A blue so vibrant and electric, and such a stark contrast against the black pupils, I wondered if they were real. And then it hit me.A guy was holding me. A guy had never held me. I didn’t count that one time, because that time didn’t count for shit, and I was pressed against him, thigh to thigh, my chest to his. Like we were dancing. My senses fried as I inhaled the light scent of cologne. Wow. It smelled good and expensive, like his…Anger suddenly rushed through me, a sweet and familiar thing, pushing away the old panic and confusion. I latched onto it desperately and found my voice. “Let. Go. Of. Me.”Blue eyes immediately dropped his arm. Unprepared for the sudden loss of support, I swayed to the side, catching myself before I tripped over my bag. Breathing like I’d just ran a mile, I pushed the thick strands of hair out of my face and finally got a good look at Blue eyes.Sweet baby Jesus, Blue Eyes was… He was gorgeous in all the ways that made girls do stupid things. He was tall, a good head or two taller than me and broad at the shoulders, but tapered at the waist. An athlete’s body—like a swimmer’s. Wavy black hair toppled over his forehead, brushing matching eyebrows. Broad cheekbones and wide, expressive lips completed the package created for girls to drool over. And with those sapphire-colored eyes, holy moley… Who thought a place named Shepherdstown would be hiding someone who looked like this? And I ran into him. Literally. Nice. “I’m sorry. I was in a hurry to get to class. I’m late and…”FTC Advisory: J. Lynn provided me with a copy of Wait for You. After reading and absolutely LOVING Frigid, this was an auto buy for me. I just knew that I would love this one just as much. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Although I did indeed like it, it just didn't tickle my fancy quite like Frigid. Everything I loved about a Jennifer Armentrout book was there (swoony boy, smexy times, and some kind of mischief), but it was something that made me just shrug my shoulders over the whole thing. And I'm thinking it was the characters. Let me rephrase that.... Character. From the beginning it was obvious that Avery was hurt by something back in the day. But the fact that it happened five years ago and she moved away was still holding on to something... Like geez, you moved so many states away, try to live a little and have fun. I hated how it seemed like she was letting the guy that hurt her take over her life. That's a big thing we need to teach girls. Even if something like that happens, don't be afraid to start over and live. Avery missed out on a lot from being so scared. But for Cam, I loved him from the very beginning. He was always a genuine, honest person who I could tell loved her from the start. And he was beyond perfect. He had Raphael and he had obviously read Harry Potter. And as for her best friends, I loved Jacob the most. He was super funny and alot of the times said things that I was actually thinking. With the romance, it was good, but it wasn't what I was expecting. This one has a lot more tension and only a little smexy times. (Can you tell how disappointed by this I was lol) But it was still very sweet and seemed very real. And the smexy times definitely were SMEXY! (HELLOOO shower scene lol) I loved the Thanksgiving scene when it showed that Avery was beginning to lose her hard shell. And as the book went on, I was happy to see that Cam lost his shell as well and told his own story. Now with the story line, I wasn't that impressed. I would have loved to see more of her where she was back to her normal self. At least to get back in some dance classes. But only because I hated seeing her as someone who got their life ruined by another person. Especially since that person abused her. As I said in one of my updates, I felt like the whole time she was forgetting to live.He took something special from her but not her life and that's something to not give up hope for. I just felt like it was sending the wrong message. Don't stay quiet, stand up and fight back. But in the end, J. Lynn is one of my favorite authors and although this wasn't my favorite work by her, I still enjoyed it.

    I loved this book!
This book reminded me of My Favorite Mistake & Beautiful Disaster.

It was emotional, romantic, & charming with an excellent storyline.

Avery has been through a life changing event and had the support of no one through it. When it comes to college she wants to get as far away as possible.

On her first day of classes she runs into a guy, but not just some random guy.... The hottest guy - Cameron Hamilton. She is instantly consumed by thoughts of him, but little does she know he also has secrets from his past.

Together they embark on a heartfelt, emotional romance.

This book is a page turner. I couldn't put it down once I started.

The characters made this book awesome. Their personalities really shined through and their relationship was one of a kind.

    I highly recommend this book!

I think I like "new adult" only slightly more than "young adult." I think I am just too old to really identify, even if there is actual sex in them. There was a whole lot of internal monologue in this, which is really not my thing. But the author did a great job at mapping out the effects of sexual assault, and I appreciated that. Kind of a heavy read, which I wasn't really prepared for, but very good.

Oh. My. God. Why the hell did it take me so long to read this? I've devoured everything written by JLA (If you don't know, that means Jennifer L. Armentrout)but I'm now just beginning to slowly consume her J. Lynn's stuff. And now I'm thinking that I'm might just be moving a bit too slow. I should know better. JLA is a master storyteller and her J. Lynn books would be no different. This, this book was amazing. I love Cam and Avery. I did not once get that depressed feeling you get from other New Adult books, I did cry my eyes out at certain parts but it was sad and touching in a fantastic storytelling kind of way, not depressing. I also laughed out loud, gasped, and swooned. Oh the swoon. Cam sounds dreamy and he's a sweetheart and one hellava male lead.

Whoa there Ms. Armentrout, now I have to take a cold shower. This story was so freaking hot, a lot of the book was the sexual tension between Cam and Avery and the tension was so (I wanna say freaking every other word) tangible you could grab it and wrap yourself in it. This tension between them really propelled the story and made it so good, so dreamy, so freaking hot.

Okay, I'm gonna cool it on the fangirling of Ms. Armentrout a bit and talk a smidge about the story. The topic of this story was a tough one and I like how it was weaved into such an epic love story and not make it seem trite. Avery was recovering or trying to recover from a bad experience from her past and she was all alone with no support but when she literally ran into Cameron her life changed. Meeting Cam made her want to truly heal so she can truly live. I could see how her friendship and blossoming romance with Cam made her strong to take the steps she needed to take for her recovery. Abuse is always hard to recover from and the development of the story made Avery's progression believable.

I loved the dynamic between the characters in the story. The cast of characters was the perfect back drop to Cam and Avery's love story. Their interactions added a lot to the book. I love Jacob, I thought he was a trip and hope to see more of him. Would love to one day maybe see his own HEA. Brit and Ollie were great but don't know much about them on that deeper level yet. Maybe I'll find out soon? But Raphael was my favorite, wish he was in the story more. LOL.

I truly enjoyed this book. When I start reading Ms. Armentrout's books I seem to just crawl inside them and get completely lost in her worlds. Whether from reality or supernatural, her writing has this relatability (is that a word? Oh well.)to it. I feel I know her characters on a personal level and I get invested in their life and so consumed with seeing them get a happy ending. This was a great book I should have read a long time ago.

HOLY MOTHER OF SWOON.. aka JLA, has done it again!!

So I've gone back and fourth on the rating for this book 4 then 5 and back again. Why? Because the story line is similar to another currently popular NA book (which I'm not going to name because I like them both). After sleeping on it I decided to go with a five star, its not as dark, its funny, the hot scenes are ERMAGERD hot, and the main character isn't as whiny. It's also out of this world swoonworthy and angsty.

    Cover and Writing
I love the cover. I would've bought this book even if it weren't written by JLA. The writing is Jennifer's usual snarky, kickass, and hilarious. My only complaint, is that pick (almost) any scene from this book and it would fit into the Lux series or the Covenant series. The problem with that.. none really. But I just want to see a different heroine from her. But seriously that is a minute complaint.. very tiny.

    Main Character
Avery.. what's to say about her.. she was damaged but is healing, or so she thinks. She ran from her problems in Texas, hoping to start a new, trouble free life far away from home. She's not an easy friend to have, because of her reluctance to let her past catch up to her. I can relate to her character.. but there is one scene I would like to smack her to get the truth out. But all unfolds in due time, and Avery finds her way to happiness.

    Swoonworthy Points: 8.5
Shame on JLA for.. there's a lot of teasing going on in this book. Excluding the oh-so-sexy 'love' scenes, there is no freaking way you couldn't fall for Cam. Sexy.. check; Funny.. check; Cocky.. check; devoted, sweet, caring, patient, perfect.. CHECK. There isn't a thing I would change about it.

And for Pete's sake Jennifer, what is it with the Cookies?! First Daemon and now Cameron. And I don't care what it stood for, but yes I would totally eat Cameron's cookies ;-) I gain ten pounds just thinking about them.. cookies that is.

If you like Jennifer Armentrout's writing, contemporary romance, or steamy addictive reads then this is the book for you!!

This is a round up from 3.5 stars.
I LOVE JLA's writing. I do. And she's a fantastic storyteller. I've read her Gamble Brothers and Lux books and I'm honestly surprised by this release.

I loved Cameron. He is drop dead gorgeous, he's persistent, he's funny, charming, sweet, smart. He has his own little demon that he's dealt with, and he is very much in love with Avery, that's pretty much clear from the get go of their relationship.

I even loved Avery. She's been through hell, she has had no support and she is young and naive. But she's quite strong to have made it to a point where she distanced herself from her damaging past, and with Cameron's help, and her two best friends, Jacob and Brittany, she slowly finds herself and heals.

The story is sweet, swoony, romantic, a little angsty, just what a good new adult novel should be. Except for the typos (quite many) and the grammatical mistakes. Their/They're confusion? That's not J. Lynn typically.

I still recommend anyone who enjoys J.Lynn/JL Armentraut's writing to read it, but I also recommend that the publisher prints no more copies before a serious proofreading and fixing all the silly beginner's typos and grammar errors. JLA is not a self published beginner. She deserves more.

I do like new adult books but I thought this one was a little lacking. There wasn't enough sex, it was predictable, and the guy was faar too perfect. A shy, naive, scared 19 year old flees from Texas to attend college on the east coast far away from her family and the reputation she had at high school. Eager to start fresh she wants to blend in and try to be normal. Then she meets Cam and everything is turned upside down. not bad but not great.

I am a big fan of the Lux series written by Jennifer Armentrout so I was very excited to read this book. I liked it okay but was a little disappointed overall. What I do enjoy about her books, including this one, are the likable characters and the great dialogue. I also liked how the relationship between Avery and Cam was built up over several months. What I found disappointing were the definite similarities between this book and others in the genre. The damaged girl with a secret, the gorgeous player who fights, the meaningful tattoo, etc... While, I did enjoy reading it, I just felt it had been done too many times before.

I Loved this book . I loved how the characters relationship was built and they did not just JUMP right into it .

“As long as the sun’s shining, shit can’t be that bad.”

Avery I loved her , I loved her sweetness, her reserve and her wanting to fully trust and at the same time be scared to death of what would happen if she shared her truths . She was amazing , she handled everything right in my opinion .

Cam, Hot, sweet, sense of humor ( which I loved) , his care towards Avery when they were intimate and his asking "May I " before he did something he thought she would not want , and going commando holy hotness ...

“I'm beginning to think cookies is a code word for something else."

"Maybe it is." He tugged on my bag again as he took a confident step back, forcing me down another step. "And just think about it. If cookie was a code word, whatever it symbolizes, it's been in your mouth, sweetheart.”

I Loved the banter back and forth between these two it was some funny .I was cracking up laughing at some of it .

    “Avery."
    "Cam?"
    "What are you up to?"
    "Nothing. Everything."
    "Those are two opposite things."
    "I know. Kiss me?”

    Book Blurb :

Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life.

    Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

    “Guess what, Avery?"

"What?" I wondered if he could see how fast my heart was beating beneath my shirt.

"Remember how you just said you were having a good time?" Cam lowered his head so that our mouths were scant inches apart. "It's about to get better."

    "Is it?"

He shifted his head and his nose grazed mine. "Oh, yeah."

"Are you not going to kiss me again?"

His lips tipped up. "That's exactly what I'm going to do.”

“Leaning back against Cam's chest, I tipped my head back and I reached up, cupping his cheek. I drew his mouth to mine and kissed him softly. "Thank you."

His lips curved up on one side. "For what?"

    "For waiting for me.”

    I really enjoyed this book!

It tell the story of 19 year old Avery who had moved across America to attend college after an incident at home that she wanted to get away from. On her first day she meets Cameron Hamilton after literally bumping into him on her first day of class–someone everyone knows and likes and who every girl wants to get with. They live in the same building and quickly become friends with a running joke of Cam asking her out at least once a day.

The interaction between all the characters made me laugh or at least smile. They’re always joking around with each other and it’s a lot less serious than some of the other NA books I’ve read. That doesn’t make it bad, for me it makes it better.

That’s not to say it doesn’t deal with some issues. This one deals with abuse–though I’m not going to tell you who or what happened as that may spoil the surprise when you read it. Which you definitely should! Also some anger issues, though nothing major.

I highly recommend you read this. It comes from a great author and is a highly entertaining read.

Have Mercy, Cam! No man should be that amazing. It should be illegal. Yet, he is. He is that and a bag of chips.

Avery has the parents from hell who didn't support her at a time when anyone with a soul would have. Ergo, her parents have no souls. I want to kick them in the shins and scream "You know why!"
So, Avery leaves and goes away to college to get away from the soulless monsters and try to rebuild her life on her own terms.

On her first day of class Avery literally runs into Cam and fate has it's way with her. He is what she needs and she is what he wants. It isn't insta-love at all. It's heartachingly real. Avery can't be honest about her past and Cam needs her to trust him. The ups and downs are so real I found myself close to tears a few times. I just wanted Avery to be healed and admit that Cam was good for her.

Through it all, Cam is a saint. He is patient, kind, respectful...everything she needed and deserved. I just want to eat him up with a spoon!

I loved everything about their story and honestly was crushed when it ended. I wanted more!

Cam is pretty much perfect. I would have rated this higher just because of how awesome he was, but the editing was atrocious. Detracted from the experience.

This was my first NA and I quite enjoyed it. I thought the whole college setting wouldn't be my thing but I liked it. Cam was such a loveable and sweet hero!

Major drawback: So many typos! Got on my nerves.

I loved Wait for You. The characters are likeable and sincere. Cam is golden. He's so sweet and caring but super masculine and sexy. He's protective and affectionate and fun. I love his pursuit of Avery. He's a dreamy charmer. I liked Avery too. She is witty, independent and relatable. Her nerves are endearing.I really liked the story's pacing and progression of their physical relationship. It's truthful. Especially when Avery is alone with her burning thoughts. When Cam and Avery do get together there is a lovely trust between them. It's explosively passionate, emotional and scorching hot. He is a barely leashed lion. And a gentleman too! Sigh.... Avery discovers pleasure in exploring and is slowly freed from her fear and inhibitions.

There is a lot to be said about a book that just sucks you in from the very beginning. And this was one of those for me.

Avery is moving herself so far away from her home and her parents. All she wants is a fresh start, where people don’t know anything about her, or her past. I don’ think it really matters how far away you get from your past, if you don’t let go of it yourself it follows you. And Avery is living with hers day in and day out, but she isn’t really living. Her story broke my heart, the way her friends abandoned her, and the worst part is, her parents were no better. But she has made two friends that were just awesome. Jacob and Brit. She soon meets Cam, and things start to change.

Cam was, well, I don’t know if I can find words for him. He is known as the “bad boy” of campus. Cam is the epitomy of what girls want. He is sweet, and caring, not pushy, oh yeah and hott… But the things I liked most about him was the way was with Avery. His patience were something that you don’t find that often. His feelings were genuine, and never felt like sex was all he wanted from her. He isn’t perfect but has learned from his mistakes making him that much more interesting and how good he really is for Avery.

The way the story and romance unfolds is a slow build that had so much anticipation that I just didn’t want to put this down. I enjoyed the banter between them while they were getting to know each other. I would find myself smiling and laughing at them both. It wasn’t hard connecting with each of them, they have a broken past, but together they have the strength to move past it and grow together. Learning what happened to Avery was heartbreaking, no one should ever have to go through anything like that.

Wait For You has characters that steal you heart and a romance that takes your breath away. It’s title is perfect and fitting. This is a definite must read.

Note: This book is for MATURE readers.

For a JLA book, I think Wait For You was rather weak. I actually have come to expect a very high quality of writing from her, but this book floored it. I'm disappointed, to be honest.

Here is a list of the things I didn't like:
    1. There were lots of errors, misspellings, punctuation missing... It needs a lot of editing.
    2. The storyline was weak. I was expecting something major happening, but was disappointed that my expectations went to the wind. *SPOILER* I wasn't expecting the messages Avery received to be from another victim. This simplified the plot way too much. I totally expected a psycho stalker, and if that had been the case, the story would've turned out much better. *END OF SPOILER*
    3. The story was too cliche for my liking. Jamie Maguire seemed to start this trend, and for her book it worked out because it was the first one. But all the books I've read recently in this genre are so similar to Beautiful Disaster, it's not even funny. It's getting not only boring, but annoying also. Perhaps the only exception remains Abbi Glines. She at least shows some creativity. Anyway, the story of the college girl accidentally bumping into a hot college guy the first day of classes and them falling for each other shortly after is sort of worn out. And I'm positive this isn't just my opinion. It's getting old.
    4. I wasn't expecting that what Avery had gone through was what it came out in the end. I sort of snorted when I read what had happened to her. Not to minimize the hurt and affliction that had cost her, but seriously? I'm inclined to think that what I'd assumed had happened is more damaging than what actually happened.
    5. Umm, Avery's friends seemed to be sex-crazed freaks. Nothing seemed to excite, interest or impress them if it weren't connected to sex. The guy, Jacob, was described as a sex-depraved guy. He sounded ridiculous most of the time, and I felt embarrassed. Honestly. And the girl, Brittany, was in my opinion, a slut. Fully contented with one-night stands with drunk guys. You got a better word for it, cuz I certainly don't.
    6. The several sex scenes were good enough. What I have reservations about and certainly do not agree with is self-satisfaction. I realize that people out there do that sort of thing but it totally grosses me out. So yeah.
    7. Oh, and I don't get why everyone seems to believe that characters (both male and female) should use cuss words in every sentence when they speak. It's disgusting, really. Does no one has a sense of manners and finesse nowadays?

What I liked about the book:
Well, perhaps the only thing that I liked was the depth of the main characters - Cam and Avery. They had their own stories that made them act the way they did. Of course every action had its consequences. I liked how Cam was caring and romantic and persistent. I liked how he didn't just up and bow down to Avery and become her slave or something.
    That's about it though.

Wait for you is one of the few books that i actually enjoyed and couldn't put down until i was satisfied to read as much as i could in a sitting, which meant reading it from start to finish. With a range of characters that you fall in love with, the main ones and the secondaries, a diversity of personalities, a strong plot and a writing style that so vividly builds images in your mind, you easily get hooked to the book. One thing that i personally look for in a book, to be one of my favorites, is that it needs to have a strong willed female lead and i was not disappointed to have read Avery Morgansten's story. And another plus side to the story was that the male lead was infact truly swoon-worthy, not the typical popular-not-a-very-nice-person-but-heroine-loves-him kind but an actually nice, kind-hearted person. You fall in love with him through two prospects, Avery's and then your own. But of course my favorite character was Raphael, and i was always happy to see glimpses of him through out the book. An all in all amazing book, and i recommend it to my fellow romance readers, because it is truly recommendation worthy.

My Thoughts: Wait For You is another outstanding novel from J. Lynn/Jennifer Armentrout. I absolutely loved it, and I absolutely loved Cam. He is definitely one of my most favorite book boyfriends ever. Avery Morgansten is 19 years old and in her freshman year of college. She wants nothing more than a fresh start away from her hometown in Texas.....away from her family.......away from the people there........away from the memories that haunt her. Something terrible happened to Avery when she was 14 years old, and the fear, hurt, and subsequent after effects from that incident have left her wounded, guarded, and she has a really hard time trusting. These are things she wants to desperately overcome, but sometime old habits die hard. On her way to her first day of class she runs into Cameron "Cam" Hamilton, literally. When she looks up at him, she finds herself face-to-face with the most beautiful guy she has ever seen who has eyes so blue that they can't possibly real, and a smile that will melt your heart. Mr. hotness personified absolutely throws her for a loop, especially when she keeps running into him, and then discovers that she lives across the hall from him. Cam Hamilton is sex on a stick and then some, and he is a really nice guy to, at least to Avery. He has a reputation as ladies man, so Avery is leery of him, and despite his attempts to ask her out, she keeps telling him no. Cam is persistent and determined to get to know Avery, and they wind up become really great friends. He's patient with her, somehow sensing her fears, and the relationship grows over time into something much more than friendship......, but will the past and its memories be more than Avery and Cam can overcome?Picture from Jen's Facebook Page courtesy of Kendall McCubbinAs I said above, I loved this story. I mean really loved it. Jennifer Armentrout/J. Lynn knows how to write romance and she really knows how to create a hot guy, and believe me, she does just that in Wait For You. Truthfully, I think she could write the label on soup can and I would buy it. She's just that good. This story captured my attention and my heart from the first page to the last and I couldn't put it down. I loved the the characters, even though I wanted to shake Avery a time or two for not realizing what was in front of her. She did had some major issues to overcome though, not just with what happened to her, but with the way she was raised in general. I couldn't get enough of Cam. He is absolutely to die for and he was so good with Avery. He has his own secrets from his past also though, but for the most part he was a great guy, a really really hot great guy. He loses his temper a few times, but considering it all, he handled things really well. I loved Brit and Jacob, Avery's friends. They were a hoot. Then there was Ollie, Cam's roommate, and I really hope we get to see more of him in the future. Then of course there is infamous Raphael and Michelangelo, and when you meet them, you'll have a whole new appreciation for turtles. The romance was hot and there are some super sexy and steamy love scenes that will definitely get your blood pumping. J. Lynn never fails to disappoint in that area that's for sure. If you are a contemporary romance lover then Wait For You is one book you won't want to miss. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would most definitely recommend it.Favorite Quotes:"Avery Morgansten, we meet again." He was the last person I wanted to see. I had the shittiest luck known to man. "Cameron Hamilton...hi." ....... "We have to stop meeting like this."...."You keep running over me, me almost running over you?" Cam elaborated. "It's like we're a catastrophe waiting to happen."Cam took a bite of his cookie and closed his eyes. A deep sound emanated from his throat - a growl of pleasure. My heart jumped and my cheeks heated up even more as I stared at him. He made the sound again, and my mouth dropped open..... "Is it really that good?" I asked, glancing down at the cookie in my lap. "Oh, yeah, this is the shit. I told you that last night. Be better if I had some milk." He took another bite. "Mmm, milk." I dared another peek at him and he looked like he was on the verge of having an orgasm or something. One eye opened. "It's the combination of walnut and chocolate. You mix that together and it's like an explosion of sex in your mouth, but not as messy....""Weren't you paying attention in class when Drage went over this and the imagining cameras?" I crossed my arms. "You were drawing the cast of Duck Dynasty when he was going over that." ....."You're actually a pretty good artist.""I know.""You're wasting your time." "When it concerns you, it's never a waste of my time," he replied.Taking a deep breath, I forced the words out. "I had a really good time tonight." Cam stared at me a moment then he smiled. The dimple appeared in his left cheek, and them my own lips responded in kind. "I know." He stepped into my apartment, his gaze starting at the top of my head and making it all the way to the bottom of m black boots. Amazing how a look could feel like a touch and I felt it in a way that put my earlier edginess to shame. His lips twitched as if he wished to smile. "It's not a bad thing. You're going to be nervous.""You're not." "That's because I'm awesome.""Goodnight, Avery." And then he kissed me - kissed me like he had right before he'd left the night of our date. Kissed me like he was a man starving for oxygen and I was the only air he needed to breathe."F**k Avery. You think I don't want you?" His voice came out low, almost a growl. "There's not a single part of you that I don't want, you understand? I want to be on you and inside you. I want you against the wall, on the couch, in your bed, in my bed, and every f**king place I can possibly think of, and trust me, I have a vast imagination when it comes to these kinds of things. Don't ever doubt that I want you. "I closed my eyes breathing heavily. "Well, that was...really sort of perfect.""I'm really sort of perfect he replied..."Everyone else knows that. You're just a little slow on the uptake." I laughed....."You coming back over?" "Always," he said kissing me quickly. "Okay." I opened my eyes smiling. "I'll wait for you."
