- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Read on March 12, 2015Oh, Chu! He's just so cute. His pesky sneezes cause him problems though. This time he creates quite a ruckus at school as they do introductions -- Chu just isn't sure what to share about himself...
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Not much of a story but Rex's illustrations are awesome. Chu should not go anywhere without a hanky.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book is very cute! Gaiman plays it straight with a nice story about a sneezing panda who makes friends his first day at school.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoy Neil Gaiman, and this would be a cute and funny addition to anyone's collection.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Chu is a young panda who is embarking on his first day of school. He goes into class very nervous and as his classmates go around telling about something they each do Chu just sits quiet. When he is the only one left to go he sneezes and says that is what he does. This book touches on first day of school jitters, characteristics of animals, and being accepted into a classroom. The illustrations are colorful and help tell the story well. The animals look realistic as well as the classroom. Using this book to teach about animals and their characteristics would be different and fun for kids.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a good book for the children to not be afraid on the first day of school. Chu is nervous for his first day of school and he is wondering will the others be nice to him. It will make the children giggly and not be nervous. I will read this book for the children on their first day of school.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Chu is a panda bear that is very excited to go to his first day of school, so he asks his parents about school. His parents tell him that everything will be amazing, and once he goes to his first day of school, he realizes that everything was great. The book was so charming because it reminded me of my first day of school, and I was also very nervous.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The illustrations were great because it really depicted what was going on in the story. This book is great for showing kids how they don't have to be afraid on their first days of school. A good read for young children entering kindergarten.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book was about a panda going to school for the first day. He is nervous, and worries if the other kids will like him. He gets there and everyone introduces themselves, and he doesn't know what to say. FInally, when the teacher is erasing the board, a lot of chalk billows into the air, and makes him sneeze. This breaks the ice, and he feels a lot better. This book is fantasy, because the animals talk and wear clothes.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The plot is summed up in the title. It has even less story than the first book. The only real redeeming part of this book is the wonderful Adam Rex illustrations. Yes there is the sneeze payoff at the end of the book but there just wasn't much to the story this time.
