This past fall, the Pre-Teen Contemporary Dance and the Creations danceclasses focused on the concepts of personal and general space, fast andslow tempos, the qualities of sharp and smooth, moving in differentdirections, moving with strong and light weight, and the body on and off balance. The students all contributed ideas toward their own version of theNutcracker which they shared on parent observation day.
It is that time of year again when we study design in dance. Students from all classeslearn about the shaping of the body, levels in space, rhythm and what emotion or feelingthe shape reminds you of! The studio is filled with dancing shapes!
