Test the Politicians
The misrepresentations, evasions, cleverly crafted distractions and outright lies of political campaigning make it difficult to vote wisely. Citizens need something more solid to go on. So lets require all candidates, local state and national, to take standardized tests similar to those that politicians impose on school kids.

My first year of teaching I taught seventh graders. Things went reasonably well, except for David who drove me to distraction. He did it by echoing me. I tried a variety of tactics to get him to stop, but to no avail. In fact, when I said, "David, please stop repeating me" he typically would respond with "repeating me" and an enigmatic grin.
