wow, Mr Colin, your information is really useful! but the thing is that I have heard that mobiles phones do emit such kind of wave that produces heat just like the infrared waves..I have also read from newspaper that the waves that are emitted from these mobile phones are the most in Motorola and the least in Nokia.I mean that do you think that mobile phones do really emit such waves that produces heat? because if this is so, then there is a possibility that the eggs will bechanged in their chemical properties but not physical properties that the forwarded message has exaggerated..hope this discussion can be participated by all the members.. thank you for your useful answer, Mr Colin.. Have a nice day! =)Report this post to a moderator Re: Do mobile phones really have the potential to do this? [post #20914568is a reply to post #20911574]Colin

September 2008You do not have to worry about mobile phones cooking or changing the chemistry of your brain. The story about the egg is not only exaggerated; it is NOT true. It didnot happen and was made up to confuse or entertain people. Follow this link to read that an author of the hoax made it up as a silly story:How Not To Cook An EggWith A Phone (But Still Create A Viral Hoax Sensation). You might choose to use your mobile less often because that is your personal belief, but your choice is notmade for any proven scientific reason. Stories like the cooked egg and other variations worry people for no good reason. We should ignore such stories, and spendmore time worrying about proven dangers like: the risk of skin cancer from sun bathing, of lung disease from carcinogens in cigarette smoke, and the dangers of usinga mobile while driving. Here is a good article which describes the problem caused by all the unfounded stories about mobile phones and other wireless gadgets:Our radiation fears are being exploited, charity warns.Report this post to a moderator Re: Do mobile phones really have the potential to do this? September 2008The potential health risk of mobile phones is an area of intense study. One of these studies called "Interphone" has yet to publish its results. An article "MobileMadness" inThe Economistdiscusses the Interphone study. "The threat to human health from mobile phones, if any, is much disputed. A shame, then, that a massive
multinational study on the question has ended in chaos."Interphone began in 2000, ended in 2006, cost $30m and involved around 50 scientists working in 13 countries on 14,000 people. It has, however, still to come to asettled conclusion. The article references a paper in Nature's Journal of Exposure Science and Environmental Epidemiology, "Recall bias in the assessment of exposureto mobile phones." This paper analyses just how unreliable the Interphone study is. Future studies need better methods, but may take even longer to come to aconclusion.Report this post to a moderator Re: Do mobile phones really have the potential to do this? September 2008The city of Sebastopol, California, USA is gaining Facebook fame for its blocking of a free WiFi project. According to articles in their local newspaper,The PressDemocrat, local democracy provides the stage for the debate between WiFi promoters and those who are worried that there may be health effects from low levels of microwave radiation. One concerned citizen published an article "Sebastopol's brave rejection of WiFi". On the other side of the debate, a grass roots group in support of free Wifi published the article "Facebook users want their WiFi". Wifi supporters have published their arguments for WiFi on two Facebook groups: "I Support Free Wi-Fi
in Sebastopol", and "[named individual] killed free Wifi in Sebastopol". Echoes of this debate are sure to be heard in other cities, as many years of intense scientific
research and demographic surveys, such as (The Interphone Study), have failed to produce proof of health risks from the radio waves of mobile phones and personalWiFi.Report this post to a moderator Re: Do mobile phones really have the potential to do this? September 2008Although there is no proven risk, a U.S. Cancer institute hasprovided warnings about cell phone use.Ronald B. Herberman, MD has provided "prudent and simple
precautions, intended to promote precautionary efforts to reduce exposures to cell phone electromagnetic radiation". On the linked web page, he begins "Recently Ihave become aware of the growing body of literature linking long-term cell phone use to possible adverse health effects including cancer. Although the evidence is stillcontroversial, I am convinced that there are sufficient data to warrant issuing an advisory to share some precautionary advice on cell phone use." Please read more at"Important Precautionary Advice Regarding Cell Phone Use" and consult the complete see the complete article (pdf file, 100kb)that Herberman has provided.
