Eco-town standards
The government expects eco-towns to:
 
Be very energy efficient
 
Save water
 
Save money
 
Have low levels of pollution
 
Have great access to public transportThe government wants eco-towns to be an example to all local authorities.Local authorities need to think about eco-towns as a way of solving theirhousing problems. If an eco-town is planned in your area, you have to beconsulted and it is your right to question and challenge those plans.
