Often I hear people say they need to go to work on Saturday or fly to aremote tropical island thing done. This is because these environments haveless distraction. However, these ideas are not necessary, not very practical,and not very wise. Too many entrepreneurs make themselves dependentupon schedule changes or changes in physical location to be productive.Because of this, I’ve become a bit of an environmentalist for my clients. I’mnot talking about reducing your carbon footprint or making the world agreener place, I’m talking about making the work environment a moreproductive place; a place that is conducive to productivity. Every day I showmy clients how to build an environment that helps them not only feel lessstress, but make more money.Some feel guilty about investing time and money in their work environment.However, a few wise investments can yield great benefits to your bottomline. Here are just a few of the many steps I use when showing my clientshow to create a productive work environment:
Sound
– Are you able to effectively shut out noise during times when you docritical thinking work? Or, is your work environment assaulting you withmany different random noises? I show my clients how to reduce the amountof noise in their workplace so they can be more focused.
Sight
– When you look around your work environment, do you see thingsthat are relaxing, comforting and help you get in the mind of beingproductive? Or, are you seeing piles of paper everywhere that cause youstress? Do you see a dirty work environment that brings you down mentally,emotionally, and physically? I show my clients how to create a visual workenvironment that helps them focus on the tasks at hand.
Touch
– Is your chair comfortable? Are your mouse and keyboard placedappropriately? Do you have fast access to the things you need? Or, do you
