Dear Collin County Democrat,You are receiving this letter based on information received by the Democratic Party of Collin Countyabout your precinct convention that was held on March 4th. The Credentials Committee of the 2008County Convention of the DPCC is now working diligently to confirm the delegate or alternate statusof each person receiving this letter. Unless and until you receive official notice otherwise from theCredentials Committee itself, you may assume that you are a duly elected delegate or alternate to the2008 DPCC County Convention, to be held on Sunday, March 30
th
at the Frisco Conference Center, and there is no reason at this time for you to contact the DPCC about the validity of your status as adelegate or alternate.
On March 30th, you will attend the largest Democratic County Convention ever held in CollinCounty!
Your participation is a vital part of the process to select our eventual nominee for President! All of the nearly 3300 delegates and alternates are strongly encouraged to attend and are guaranteedseating, and we will seat guests on a space available, first-come, first-served basis. If you are analternate, you may be elevated to delegate status with full voting rights, but even if you are notelevated to delegate, as an alternate, you can still enjoy the convention and observe the process. We have two great candidates for US President. Only one can win the nomination and become ourPresident. We must support whoever wins the nomination and get them elected so we can put ourcountry back on track, reclaim our civil rights, re-establish checks and balances in our governmentand the separation of church and state, fix social security and healthcare, bring our troops home andheal them, promote diplomacy instead of wars, address global warming and pollution, strengthen ourpublic schools, provide government-funded research for solutions to global problems, and stopgovernment corruption. We need a Democratic President. It all starts right here in Collin County. Tip O’Neill hit the nail on the head when he said, “All politics islocal.” Our 2008 County Convention will be a huge, milestone event in local politics, so join us as wemake history! Learn how your local Democratic Party works, and offer to work within it as an officevolunteer, precinct chair, campaign worker, or candidate. Exciting times are ahead in Collin County! The substantial cost of our historic 2008 County Convention will have to be paid for solely bydonations from local Democrats like you, so please donate to the DPCC as generously as you can tohelp defray the expenses of the convention, though there is no admission fee to participate. We lookforward to seeing you on March 30
th
in Frisco!Sincerely Yours,Daniel DoddChairman, Democratic Party of Collin County
