 Learning Portals -Creating AcademicLearning Networks
PRESENTER:
Tap into the excitement that K-12learners bring to "social" networkingtools to create an "academic" learningnetwork. Participants will leave thispresentation with specific suggestions,not just about the plethora of learningnetwork tools available to them at little orno cost. More importantly, they will learnhow to convert social learning situationsstudents are engaged in into virtualacademic learning environments. Theseacademic learning environments not onlyenable student engagement throughvarious media--photos, videos, virtualdiscussion boards--but enable theteacher to better engage students bymelding traditional activities (e.g.homework and class discussion) into ananytime/anywhere learning portal.Participants will leave with their very ownNing Learning Portal, ready for use in amatter of days!
