OPERATING PRINCIPLES

Operates by comparing the frequencies of two colpitts oscillators andamplifying the audio frequency which is the sum of the difference. Thefixed oscillator is controlled by the thumbwheel tuner. The variableoscillator changes its inductance when the Search Head is broughtinto close proximity of any metal. This difference when amplified isheard in the earphone or speaker, as an audio signal tone, or deflectsthe meter.
