THE CONTRIBUTION OF FOREST IN THE NATURAL

ENVIRONMENT AND NATION FINANCE
Panagiotis Eskioglou
Professor Forestry and Natural Environment A.U.Th. pxeskio@for.auth.gr
SUMMARY
Each healthy forest ecosystem contributes in the improvement of climate, minimises the
phenomenon of greenhouse, the danger of floods, erosion and desertation, while it constitutes
also sovereign lever of economic growth. This is realized or with the increase of wood
capacity and forest products or with the increase of income of mountainous population, with
the change of use of their rural ground in forestal. In the work are recorded the utilities of
forest ecosystems, their plans of protection and are presented the possibilities of import of
selected forest species with which is increased the production of timber and is strengthened the
alternative energy cultivation for production of biomass as main product, that can be used for
energy aims

KEY WORDS: Forest ecosystem, forest, alternative energy cultivation, biomass
