Minutes were approved with two modifications made to page one. StephanieCowan was changed to Stefanie Cowan and Lisa Cox’s email was changed to be accurately reflected.2)Introduction of the Council Members and departmental announcements.

a)Athletics- New women’s coaches have been hired and they are in the process of hiring assistantcoaches. b)ICIA- They are wrapping up the Athletics & Recreation audit.c)College of Law- Classes are complete and they are busy with the BAR exam prep.d)Marketing & Communications- They are busy with the new branding and logo work.e)AHSS- Not much going on. It is relatively slow in the summer.f)Special Programs- Busy working on the preparing for the debate.g)University College- It’s the first week of classes for the summer. They have started a blog for students.h)Human Resources- There will be one last announcement made regarding the Total HealthAssessment. A new applicant tracking system was also announced.i)Admissions- Busy gearing up for 2013 recruiting. j)UTS- Busy getting ready for the debate and the upcoming Banner upgrade.k)GSSW- The school just graduated their largest class to date. The class gift is to retrofit all water fountains to water bottle fill stations.l)Risk Management- Busy renewing policies for the next fiscal year.m)ORSP- No update. Member’s first meeting as an attendee.n)Multicultural Excellence- They will have a booth at Pridefest. They also have two open positionsthat they are trying to fill.o)Office of Teaching & Learning- They just developed a new system to house videos created acrosscampus named “Video Manager.” p)NSM- The dean, Elaine Parsons has officially retired. Additionally, asbestos abatement is beginning.q)Facilities- They are busy planting and painting things. Additionally, they are still working on thework order system as well as on a key tracking system. The SOCA is having its one year anniversary on June 28
.r)Registrar- They helped put on a successful graduation. Also, grades are due on the 14
and once processed, they will start awarding degrees.s)TWC- There are three more salons scheduled and for the one on 9/29, TWC is partnering withDCBA.t) Advancement- They just completed their move into a new facility that is owned by the University.3)Committee Reportsa)Employee Appreciation Picnic- The committee met on 6/12 and were assigned duties. Saskiasubsequently met with the Chancellor on 6/13 to discuss having the University pay for the picnicinstead of charging individual departments. He agreed this was a good idea, but then indicatedthat he would want Cathy Grieve to run the picnic. This would be so that senior staff would be ableto promote it better. The committee chairs will meet with Cathy to figure out how SAC can helpout her office. Planning is now on hold until that meeting can occur. b)Outreach- No update.c)Task Force- Committee members were tasked with making updates to the SAC By-laws whichwere discussed later in the meeting.d)Staff Awards- Jordan Ames set up a website where people could make nominations. So far, thereare approximately 50 nominations for the committee to review. Once a winner is selected, his/her name will be forwarded to Cathy.e)Sustainability- The new Director has been hired and he will be at the next sustainability councilmeeting. The bottled water initiative has been benched for the time being. It was also noted thatMinutesPage 2
