FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Largo, FL July 16, 2012 Darren Ayres, Republican candidate for U.S. House of Representatives (FL-13) is releasing the following statement on the subject of health care:

Conservative candidate for the U.S. Congress, Darren Ayres, attended the Affordable Healthcare Initiative, an educational forum on the state of health care in America Featured speakers at the event were Dr. David McKalip, founder of Doctors for Patient Freedom, and Georgia Congressman Tom Price, who appeared via Skype. The keynote presentation was delivered by Dr. McKalip who described the current state of healthcare in America since the passage of the Affordable Care Act and the destructive impact it has had upon our healthcare system. Dr. McKalip then presented a freedom-based alternative which returns focus to the doctor-patient relationship as the centerpiece of medical decision-making and replaces the unwieldy behemoth of the government exchanges with private funding that is more efficient and reduces costs. Following this, candidate Darren Ayres addressed those in attendance and referred to notes he had taken during the presentation. Mr. Ayres recognized the value of Doctors for Patient Freedoms alternative, stands in support of such a plan, and would act to see such a plan implemented through legislation pending the repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
Darren Ayres has served his country in the U.S. Air Force, has been ordained as a Christian minister and subsequently served as a chaplain in the Florida National Guard. Over the years, he and his wife Trish have owned and operated several small businesses. As a national defense conservative, a fiscal conservative, and a social conservative, Darren Ayres understands Main Street America and believes that citizen-statesmen are now needed in elected office as a bulwark against government growth and to return the federal government to operating within its constitutional constraints.
