An 18-month project funded by the European Union which addressed violence against women / gender based violence and trafficking issues in the cities of Angeles (Pampanga) and Olongapo (Zambales). The project consisted of a research establishing baseline data on VAW and trafficking which produced two reports (available in CD format); development of two community based theatre groups (Salamin or Mirror in Angeles and Maskara or Mask in Olongapo) which included a youth camp; a four-month long capacity building workshops for selected LGU and CBO participants on the themes of gender and development, gender and human rights, gender and environment, gender and the laws, gender and reproductive and sexual health rights; a trainers training workshop; also various advocacy activities; collaborative or partnership mechanisms with the LGUs to promote gender-responsive and rights-based policy reforms.
