Elephant Chips

Elephant Chips use a small amount of yarn and are knitted flat. They would like friends to hang around with, please. But they understand if youre too busy. You will need: A small amount of yarn A pair of needles Embroidery thread or safety eyes Stuffing (The Elephant Chip in the picture is made with Sirdar Snuggly DK, and 4mm needles) Body Cast on 3 stitches *Kfb, k to last stitch, kfb P row* Repeat from * to * until you have 15 stitches

Work in stocking stitch for 4 rows *K2tog, k to last 2 stitches, K2tog P row* Repeat from * to * until you have 3 stitches, but on last purl row, thread stitches through. Trunk Cast on 5 stitches Work 6 rows in stocking stitch Thread stitches through Ears (make 2) Cast on 4 stitches *Kfb, k to last stitch, kfb P row* Repeat from * to * until you have 10 stitches Cast off Making up Fold body in half, sew up one side, and embroider eyes wherever you think they should go. Fold trunk in half, sew up fully (without stuffing). Sew trunk onto body. Sew the cast on edge of the ears onto the body. For the tail, thread one piece of yarn through the back. (Alternatively, you could thread three pieces of yarn through the back and plait them together.) Stuff, sew up edge on body. Voila! One Elephant Chip!
