Description

In his new book, economist Dean Baker debunks the myth that conservatives favor the market over government intervention. In fact, conservatives rely on a range of “nanny state” policies that ensure the rich get richer while leaving most Americans worse off. It’s time for the rules to change. Sound economic policy should harness the market in ways that produce desirable social outcomes – decent wages, good jobs and affordable health care.

All these "rich" folk you're prattling on about, Mr. Baker, I wonder, do they include the Kennedy clan? The Kerrys? Gates and his wife or the other billionaires at Microsoft or in the dot.com crowd? George Soros? Edwards, Pelosi, Feinstien, Oblahma? Yeah, he's rich, too, along with the hundreds of overpaid and under-talented actors, directors, and writers in Follywood? Are you including Brokaw, Rather, Williams, and the rest of the rats in the journalistic sewer? How about the union bosses? How about any rich, hypocritical liberal? The rich get richer. Yeah, the ones I just mentioned do, but how is that helping poor folk like me? Yeah, I'm poor, but I'm a Conservative, because folks like you only harm poor folk like me, while at least Conservatives are more than willing to give me a chance. You're social programs create dependency. Maybe that's good enough for your family, but it sure isn't for mine. Why don't you find out who most Conservative are? Not bloody likely, I think. That would require a perspicacity that your hubris and inert bent of mind could never allow, Mr. Baker.
